Leaving teaching

Have come back to teaching after maternity leave, a psychotic episode and a depressive spell and I really hate it. Been back since sept so have given it a fair go. Too much pressure I'm afraid, threat of being put onto capability measures. Am going to concentrate on my daughter. Is there life after teaching? Any jobs I could do?

The assessor on my TA nvq course is an ex teacher.

Would college lecturing be less stressful.

I do hope you find something that makes you happy.

Please, as I said on the other thread, just leave.

You aren't well. Don't worry about the next job for a little while, you need a break to get over the stress.

I am so glad that you are seeing that you need to do something else.

If it is possible I would focus on just trying to get better for now, maybe after six moths or iso look for some voluntary work to build hour confidence.

What subject do you teach?

I'm leaving at Christmas. Currently teach P/T, have two young DC and a very stressful work environment.
I have a few tutoring jobs lined up, and have started my own business. I'm going to spend the next few years doing what is best for me, my DH and my DH, and it sounds like you should too.

I could have written a post very similar to yours this time last year.

I left, it was the best thing I ever, ever, ever did. I had to focus on me, my husband and our gorgeous boy, not trying to survive in the joke of a school I had the misfortune of working in.

Something WILL come up, you have lots of transferable skills. Think broad, when you feel ready, and I hope you find the freedom that I now enjoy.
