I wonder will it be early July, making her about 15 weeks.

The radio One news said it was "early days" but they'd had to announce it because of the hospitalisation.

I agree - I think there'll be more news in the Xmas Day speech.
I also think that there is an element that yes, their hand has been forced - she's probably had to cancel some engagements to accommodate for HG, but also, if something does go wrong, they'll have an enormous amount of public sympathy and support.
Did see some speculation somewhere a few weeks ago that she might be pg with twins - if the sickness thing is true then maybe that's a possibility?
Really hoping mum and baby(babies?!) are well (soon).
I wondered that too Norks - I'm wonder how far along she is. I'm assuming past 12 weeks or they'd be too nervy to mention it even if she had been hospitalised for hyperemesis. Hopefully it will give publicity to hyperemesis too as I came up against alot of 'eat ginger biscuits and you'll be fine' and 'I only had it in the evenings though are you sure it's all the time' type of useful

I think the queen was saving it up for her speech xmas day. Reckon it's v early days but they couldn't keep it quiet once she was hospitalised.

She's already been on mn, remember the webchat ;)
Couldn't tell if they meant to announce it or if their hand was forced because of her admission

I just gave a small inappropriate whoop of delight at this news. I'm not even a royalist, but totally love these two.
Remember thinking when I saw her at that prep school on Friday playing hockey in high heels that she couldn't possibly be pregnant and manage that!
So happy for her. Hope she feels better soon - must be nearly 12 weeks if they're being brave and announcing it... so a June royal arrival?
So what's Kate's MN nickname going to be, hm?

Am I right in thinking that whatever the gender of the baby it'll be the monarch? So a Queen or a King one day?
Wonder what the name will be - doubt they will go along with their peers and beget a Queen Maisie.

HG is terrible, and she's so thin to begin with - I had HG with DS2 and lost 2 stone, it was awful.
So pleased for them, I'm such a royalist hoorah!
It's on the bbc too. Poor Kate. Lovely news but she'll feel like death warmed up at the moment.
