The royal family

It was Harry's bum, now it's Catherine's tits

A French paparazzi got her sunbathing topless on holiday (privately, at Lord Linley's chateau) last week.

Apparently, the pix were offered to the Britsh media, who referred to buy; but they are to be published in a French magazine later today (it may be too late to injunct;so much for French privacy laws).

The Cambriges in Kuala Lumpur are reportedly "saddened" by this (bet they said other words too); though the actions of the French paparazzi must have a particularly nasty resonance for Diana PoW's children.

I think it's disgraceful. As it'll be all over the internet soon, the logic which put Harry's bum on the front page can (logically) apply again.

Poor woman. She's going to be hounded like this for the rest of her life Sad

It's a shame that the French magazine have opted to buy the pictures and I wonder how long it will be before a British paper/magazine attempts to publish them in "the public interest" Sad

It must be horrible to be her. I think she only would have done it if she was sure she was safe to do so.

I know a couple of people who work at Sandringham and they are always having to get photographers to move.

I'm waiting for the queens arse, to make a hat trick.

Shouldn't be long I imagine.

Wait, she has nipples? Well, gosh, that sure sounds like news...

Poor Kate.

She must have felt pretty damn safe to do it in the first place, so this is doubly upsetting. Apparently William was there too, so we can presume he also thought they were fine (Katie doesn't seem like the 'screw you, I'm doing it anyway' type).

Poor thing. Who, honestly, cares?

We obviously care if we are talking about it, but lets not feel too sorry for the well loved, multi millionairre! On one hand I think you have to expect this level of intrusion. On the other hand, I hate the gutter press!

How unnecessary and intrusive. Poor Kate.

French just don't learn do they .

Revenge for us getting the Olympics and making a good job of it.

The French media say it's in the public interest Hmm

TunaPastaBake what a bloody ridiculous comment. They aren't saying it is in the public interest at all - most of the French media are pretty appalled at the breach in privacy.

As for the revenge for the Olympics? I assume you are making a crap joke?

Yeah, I didn't understand the Olympics reference either!

On a more positive note, has anyone else seen the dress Catherine wore to a state dinner last night? Utterly beautiful (apologies for Daily Mail link, I can't find another picture to link to on my phone)

No pint boycotting Closer as it is only the French magazine 'Closer' that has printed them.

Closer UK is nothing to do with them.

They should win damages pretty easily (hope it goes to charity, but that's not the subject here). The editor will probably argue that the images aren't damaging to her image (because apparently they're not at all shocking Hmm ) but there's not a court in France who would agree with that point of view. Our laws on privacy are strict and usually quite well respected.

scaevola · 14/09/2012 20:09

The editorial 'justification' for printing the pictures was just cringe-worthy and I though contained a veiled threat (about the "more intimate" pictures it has but did no print in this edition).

They are suing which is very rare for the Royals.

Just seen this about an Italian magazine planning to publish them too.

Both titles owned by Berlusconi. Hmmm.

After his mothers experiences with paps William is probably ultra careful not to put Kate in their path + this was a private secluded ( they thought ) garden.

Bloody pap must have had a shocking great lense + been hanging off a tree to get it.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/09/2012 14:07

The magazine will get fined but not massively. The laws are strict but enforcement is pretty random, and the invasions of privacy havd been getting worse in the past decade or so as French appetite for sleb gossip has been getting more and more like the Bruts and Americans.

They have now been published in Ireland, so it's not Berlusconi behind this.

Do any of see papers have online editions? For it can only now be a matter of time before they appear everywhere.

Report
PetiteRaleuse · 15/09/2012 14:27

The pictures are already online.
