What feed for chubby Jack russell - farm dog living in luxury

Our bitch is 7 yrs old and getting too big. She has an open door lifestyle she comes in and out as suits but does spend a lot of time asleep in the lounge. Now I used to buy the 15kg bag of working dog by Dr Johns from the farm shop but now we only have the Jack so its not necessary and realised that these bags arent really aimed at laid back small dogs and she loves it. Should I be looking at a specialist feed but just seen the prices!!! My 15kg is around £12ish and these posh feeds are £12 for 2kg. They look good as low fat and suitable.

Any ideas?

What other feeds are you looking at? I think specialist low fat ones are generally unnecessary but perhaps a working food isn't ideal. Whichever food you use it's the amount that really matters. You reduce the amount by, say, 10% at a time until you find a level where she is losing.

I've just had a look at //www.whichdogfood.co.uk as I wasn't familiar with Dr John and it is, to be blunt,an appaling food crammed with cereal fillers and unspecified meat derivatives. Do your girl a favour and have a look on their for a better quality one. Often they are not as much more expensive as it first appears as you need less.
