Has anyone had experience of these braces? DD1 (12yrs) refered to an orthodontist who gave 2 options NHS - 4 extractions and brace or this "damon system" no extractions, quicker but £2,000 (shock)(£120 per month interest free)Now we are not well off but I don't want to have healthy teeth pulled and don't know what to do?

ds1's got damon braces at the moment - he's 7 months into the treatment - you're lucky it's £2000, ours is £3500

I'm afraid as soon as ds1 heard "teeth extracted" vs "teeth not extracted" the decision was out of our hands ...

It seems to be working very well so far - his teeth are already straightened out and they're just trying to sort out his (slight) overbite now

Thanks mimsum, do you think it is worth the expense then? And have you seen visible results in the 7 months? Sounds like it is always that kind of money, did you ever investigate any alternatives?

his teeth are definitely straighter, but it's the overbite we really need to sort out so the hard bit starts now ...

the alternatives were leaving it alone, or the NHS version, but I really didn't want him having teeth taken out if he didn't need it, plus this is much quicker so by the time he's in danger of getting to kiss a girl the braces will be long gone
