DD14 met a boy who lives 30 minutes by car away, she met him through a friend and wants to see him more and have become bf gf on bbm. She is constantly moaning at her dad to take her to see him. He says no and then it's meltdown "your ruining my life" etc. how would you cope with this. What would you say? Have tried expensive, too far etc not on a school night. We have not said she can't see him but just that's impractable to keep taking her.

Is there a mid-point they could meet at by public transport? Cinema, shopping centre etc?

No buses from the village, it's car or nothing. They can meet half way but it's still a big trip out and back and her dad does do it once a week but she asks every day and so is moody everyday.

Well if he does it once a week and the boys parents do it once a week then that sounds more than fair. Tell her if she keeps pestering she will be getting no lifts!
