Does anyoe have a solution for this?

Even if I wore knee to bra control pants for a 'smooth siloustte' (which i won't cos I hate them) I'd still need to waer tights, and although I am quite slim(ish) I always get a slight but perceptible (to me anyway) over the tights bulge and the ridges at the fornt and back where the seams are can be visiabe.

I havw pondered ths for a nuber of years with no successful resolution, so thought the knowledgable ladies on style and beauty may finally slove this for me.

i think a solution may be: tights which go up to your bra, but thes don't exist do they?

I want to know too.

wear a size larger than usual ?

it depends how tight. When I was pg and wore a kind of smocky jersey dress it didn't show much as it was quite loose below the boobs, I mean slightly empire.

The more fitted ones I have trouble with now - especially since having ds2 I even hate wearing jersey tops. I used to rely on thema nd now am stuck as they kind of show anything underneath that isn't perfectly toned.

I am thnking of under quite fittde jersey dresses, which are flattering on me apart from all the tight bulge and outline.

You need one of these. Just the ticket.

If I wore a larger size I imagibe they'd be too long in the leg and would wrinkle and/or start falling down. Could be wrong though, has this been the answer for anyone?

AnyFucker Sat 21-Nov-09 17:46:04

yes, that's why I suggested it

but I am 5ft 10 so never really have the problem of tights being too long smile

Looking at that website, spanx do tights that go up to your bra!!!!!

I've found the holy grail!!

I don't think the all in one slip would do me as I'd have to wear bra and tights with the slip and that is all too much.

I'm going to try the tigts though, even if they are v expensive, if they work and are comfortable they'll do the trick.

anyone tried spanx? I tries control pants from mandS once and hated them, are spanx better?

notyummy Sat 21-Nov-09 17:51:28

Dont have spanx control pants or tights so cant comment on them. The slip I linked to and the slip/skirt things are great though, so I think the quality is OK.

BaronessBarbaraKingstanding Sat 21-Nov-09 17:56:05

Do you hav the half slip? I was looking at that and wondreing if it could be worn over tigts to smooth out, but would I get a bulge over the top?

I am pregnant at mo and found maternity leggings that go up to under my bra are the only thing to hide the bumps and bulges (not that there is any hiding the bump- but it doesnt cut bump into two bulgy halves IYSWIM?)

I can't wear tights but I imagin you want tights that go up to your bra and even if you are not pregnant maternity tights would probably do the trick which maybe a bit more comfy to wear than spanx.

PerArduaAdNauseum Sat 21-Nov-09 18:06:33

Erm, surely if you can see the seam of your tights, you need to go up a size in the dress?

Airing Sat 21-Nov-09 18:10:17

stockings.

juneybean Sat 21-Nov-09 18:13:24

I know the feeling, I always look pregnant in tights as it "rounds" my belly off lol

Romanarama Sat 21-Nov-09 18:14:04

these are good but rather £££. Wolford fatal are also seamless.

BaronessBarbaraKingstanding Sat 21-Nov-09 18:40:40

stockings can work but are hard to get in higher denier.

Fine jersey which lies flat across your stomach will show up bumps from underwear underneath. It'd even do this if I weant up a dres size and then the dress would also be too bighmm.

Seamless tights are good but don't solve my bulge over the top/cut you in half look, I think high waitsed may be my solution for that.

what I rally need is seamless high waisted tights. Anyone??grin

£2.90 leggings from Primark, not too tight and sit easily on your pantline, worn with boots.

notyummy Sat 21-Nov-09 18:49:37

Not sure the skirt slip would be the answer tbh - just as likely to give you a bulge if you get one already with tights. Full slip would smooth down the 'tights line' I think.

Clure Sat 21-Nov-09 18:50:29

I got some "body shaping" tights from m&s and some from asda which go up a bit higher than normal and am happy with the result under my knitted dresses

spicemonster Sat 21-Nov-09 18:57:25

Also spray your tights or whatever you're wearing underneath with hairspray - stops the jersey clinging

Clure Sat 21-Nov-09 19:50:49

spicemonster thats brilliant - thanks!

momijigari Sat 21-Nov-09 21:06:30

I am 5ft (between a 10-12) and always buy bigger tights, never had a problem with them going all Nora Batty on me.

I feel sorry for tall people who have to put up with stingy tights, with large tights I get more density, more stretch and I can wear them under my bra strap, much more comfortable than on the waist line, no bulges, no uncomfortable control pants.

Tights under your bra strap? Genius. How I wish I'd thought of that before!
