bumping for some help

oh shame it has to be online as there were some nice dresses in H&M.

Not sure, worth trying supermarkets though as they have good pricesand I have seen some sparkly things in Sainsburys Tesco and Asda recently.

How old is DD? 12?

thank you for your help
norkily dd is 11.it's hard for me to take her shopping as I also have a baby and disabled ds
and dont have a car.I would love to take her to h&m,I would have to see if I can do it somehow.
The thing is I mostly buy my dd clothes in local charity shops so wanted to treat her to something special for her first disco in secondary school.
thank you Florence,I will check up other dresses in the shops in your link,as those are a bit young for my dd.

Blue spangly tunic from Next (also available in black) (she'd need leggings with that, though)
dark grey spangly dress from Debenhams

Everything I can see with sequins is black...some great bargains.

Black sequin from George at Asda £13:

Prom style from George £15:

Lovely dress but perhaps more 'family party' than disco (only £9!):
F&F dress

Tesco have a lovely silver one, but it only goes up to a 9/10. However, I always think their sizing is huge so it might be worth a look:

Sorry, that's out of stock. Asda?

Tesco? Not a dress, though.

Ooh, great minds, Flo! grin

How about this? Or this? Put in a search for "sequin dress 11" on ebay and see what else comes up. (If you have time before the disco to get it delivered that is!)

I am worried - is my DD (nearly 10) going to have to become a mini-Goth in 2013 whether she likes it or not? It seems to be all black, black, black as soon as you get into teen sizes.

I guess there's always Boden...

thank you so much for all your replies.
I will have a proper look at the links later.don't want dd to see it as I'm worried she may get excited about something I wouldnt be able to afford,so want to check it myself first.
I'm feeling much more optimistic now that I may be able to get her something.thanks

just had a quick look and think dd will like the New Look dress,as it's everything she asked for.

GossipMonger Sat 21-Nov-09 22:58:29

Do you not think it is a bit tarty old for an 11 yr old?

Sorry if this offends but there is no way I would let my 11yr old out in a dress like that!

loka Sun 22-Nov-09 10:36:40

Thanks Gossip, trouble is I really dont know what 11 year olds would wear to disco, really haven't got a clue.
I was thinking of geting her that New Look dress in bigger size so it's longer for her and wearing it with plain cotton
shrug.
I'm still looking though as was hoping to spend a bit less, but my dd just doesn't like any of the dresses I have shown her.

I think that it's fun for a disco and would look 'age appropriate' with flat pumps and some leggings.

It is a really difficult age to great right.

My DD1 [10] wore this one to her last school disco. With opaque tights and her silver sparkly 'heels'
