Looking at the old thread I know you have been keeping the faith, but I feel it is time we brought the MN haircut to anyone confused by the MNTV threads, or anyone who just plain doesn't feel/can't afford to pay over the odds for what, lets face it, is only letting someone take a pair of scissors to your hair.
Why not let it be you that takes that pair of scissors!

For those new at this, here is the (frankly quite hideous but unfortunately obligatory) before pic

during (note the ponytail is very close o my hairline, any further back (and I am right on the limit) and you are risking mullet, don't say I didn't warn you)

after 1
after 2

and this is the original video thanks to mampiggy.

I wil be doing mine again later this week.
I faithfully promise to update thread with all pictures.

I've just done mine for about the fourth time. Had to get my SIL to cut some length off the back but I love my MN haircut and my fringey wispy layers

When it's in the ponytail how do you cut it?? sorry if that sounds really dumb... thanks

Not dumb. Th cutting is the trick. Waqtch the video if you can.
it depends if you want a lot or a lttle off, but better to start small. Its easier to snipa bit more later than to stick it back on...

You basically put the scissors so they are pointing into the ponytail (straight at your head) and snip, so you are cutting into the pony, not across. snip snip snip so it makes layers. You do not want it all the same length.
Just don't cut too much, it's deceptive as to how much you are cutting so take it gently...

A WORD OF WARNING >>>>>>>

Don't keep on doing it even if the first is a success - it WILL look daft at some point!

Just did a bit and love it!!!
Am not thinking about just tying up the front of mky hair and cutting that and putting a few layers in...
Would it work if I just put the front of my hair in a ponytail!!!

It should, but take it easy and don't cut too much or you will end up looking like Pat Sharp.
