White Stuff sale and Boden sale

(75 Posts)
still no sign of the white stuff sale
I've not been in ages, trying to avoid until the sale starts
Online they seem to have very low stock and quite random - I bought stuff in store that didn't exist online

No- it hasn't but what I was saying is they don't have much stock anyway- well, not if you want anything that isn't pink ( skirts) or pretty ordinary T shirts etc etc- all dresses etc have gone....
their sale hasn't started yet though? or has it? <<confused>>
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 03-Jul-09 18:21:00
I have bought nothing- most things I want out are of stock in colour/size.

went into a large-ish White Stuff today and very disappointed- practically nothing left in stock unlesss you want T shirts, or skirts with pink in them...no dresses, no skirts, no thing....
I don't think so, they have a few odd bits in their sale section
I thought White Stuff was already on...

when is that starting? (sorry, haven't read whole thread)
so let's hope white stuff have something good
Not spent a penny <<disappointed>>
I got a few bits for the DC.

Jeans for DS.
Towelling hoody for DS
Knitted dress for DD.

I've got the white crinkle linen dress and have worn it loads - its very cool and you don't have to iron it!

However i got the size 8 and am 8 months pregnant so think it comes up quite big or is just very stretchy.

Not sure what it would like minus bump but looks lovely with bump smile

wools - it kept doing that to me ... soooo frustrating. Does anyone have a free returns label that they are willing to part with by any chance ... very cheeky question I know! grin
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 03-Jul-09 09:17:03
I did really struggle to find anything though - another taker for the white crinkle linen dress. But i fear the lining will make it too hot to wear in the sun.

Boden Groupie will have been hoarding free returns labels if she lives up to her name, so no need to worry!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 03-Jul-09 09:07:05
will all the stuff they didn't put in the sale be back on the website in a few weeks then?
Asos have some boden kids stuff on sale. I found a cardigan for dd that was sold out on the Boden site on Asos a few weeks ago....
NOW!

It was very disappointing. I only ordered something because I have credit (which I had been saving for the sale)

I ordered the crinkle linen dress - white was the only colour left. I am not convinced it will suit me. Does anyone have it?

I'm having terrible problems with the Boden site - it keeps throwing everything out of my basket. I rang them up and they said the site wasn't fully operational and keep trying. Do they really think I've nothing better to do all day.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 03-Jul-09 08:31:34
i have tried and tried but there is not a single thing i want.
I've not ordered anything either
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 03-Jul-09 08:15:44
blimey bodengroupie, that's going to cost you a fortune to return!
£519 shock. Like Wiggletastic, I've bought nothing. Nothing left in DD's size and anything I was vaguely interested in I've already bought (Zanzibar top and cropped jeans). Quite disappointing really but at least I've saved some money!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 03-Jul-09 08:15:01
ive ordered the floral dress and the rivera dress for me and the heart pedal pushers for dd.
Very dissapointed with the sale. I have bought nothing because everything I liked for me or DD is sold out in the right colour or size. sad

Was going to ask if anyone had splurged yet...

Wow, BG!

My total is £91 for 3 items - one in 2 sizes.

Bit peeved there's no free delivery, though.
And I'm now poorer by £519 blush. Obviously once I've tried it all on and returned most of it, I'll only be poorer by about £50!
Are the US discounts definitely the same? I thought they always got better ones than us [sulky brat emoticon]. Assumed it depended on what they've got left in their warehouse over there. I spend far too much time thinking about this sort of thing!

Oooh, site went down 'for maintenance' 2 mins ago...
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 03-Jul-09 06:28:35
Boo hoo I'll be at work at 8.00a.m. Johnny that's not fair.
That is the winter salegrin, the summer will start at 8am, usually heralded by the site going down for a while and everyone on here panicing.
I am confused by the sale as it seems to have about 3 things in it...
Bugger, I am two hours ahead of you all and hoped to nab a few bargains before you are all online but the Boden Sale hasn't started yet.

Hi Everyone,
When I asked they said the Boden sale started at midnight last night, but I think it's going to be 8:00am
Just to let everyone know, if you want to see what the discounts are, Boden USA's Sale is on now!
xxxxx
I thought it started tomorow, but just looked and nothing left.

hmmm - didn't think of that!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 02-Jul-09 21:06:42
corn- but surely they don't have anything not in the sale when it IS sale?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 02-Jul-09 20:34:31
But you can't get extra off already on sale stuff then? Are all the boys and baby stuff normally in the sale or not? Ta
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 02-Jul-09 20:31:12
Order something non-sale in the same order from Boden and you should be able to use a free delivery code. You'll also get a p&p thingy to send things back.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Thu 02-Jul-09 20:24:58
Can you use discount codes at the same time as sale stuff?
thanks mrsmerryweather - I will order all at once, assuming they have anything left in my size
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 01-Jul-09 10:59:24
P&P- yes. You have to pay- make sure you order all you want in one go- I have often had after-thoughts and had to pay another £4.

If you have ever had any free return labels and not used them you can use them.
Yay! grin
Thank you so much Fimbo - I've rummaged and found some old labels

I usually return 70% of normal boden stuff so don't want to get stuck paying for postage
Not fixed price, you need to take it to the PO to be weighed. The secret is to keep the returns labels from any pre sale purchases that you did not return.
Thanks, any idea how much return postage costs? Is it a fixed price?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 01-Jul-09 10:38:00
Yes you do pay postage and returns.
bump
Question for the experienced Boden shoppers - do you have to pay for both postage and returns in the sale?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 30-Jun-09 12:41:55
Boden sales usually go live at 8am- no point staying up til midnight unless you just want to see if the sale is on.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 30-Jun-09 11:01:07
Have now had email from White Stuff offering free delivery until midnight on 7th July - so will sale start on 8th? A Wednesday? Or that weekend maybe?

Will certainly be keeping an eye out for Boden on Friday - might stay up til midnight on Thursday just to make sure!
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 30-Jun-09 09:50:01
if you go to the boden preview site and click on the ad on the right on the front page you get 20% off anyway.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Tue 30-Jun-09 09:26:22

White stuff website now has a sale section but not a lot in it.

I was sure that I read on another thread that the boden sale was starting this Friday (I'd try and find the thread, but I've had two glasses of wine so I'm not hopeful!)
It's got to be this Friday - I need stuff for my holiday <<Ginger stamps her feet>>

BodenUSA.com sale started today if that's any indicator?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Mon 29-Jun-09 20:45:12
I've got a 15% off code for White Stuff that runs out on 30 June (tomorrow!) so am thinking maybe the sale starts 1st July? Or maybe more likely to start towards the weekend.

Boden Autumn/Winter preview is up but they have been sneaky this year - if you've not had the email from them and just got straight onto the site without going via the email, it doesn't take the 20% off!! shock
thanks
Apparently the White Stuff sales starts 'in July' (all I could elecit).
Will prepare to 'hover' outside local store in a couple of weeks' time!
any word on the white stuff sale?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Sat 13-Jun-09 13:31:09
there is nothign in the sale i want
I've always worked out the Boden sale by checking when the shops are closed, it usually tallies. The 17th does seem late
Checked bodenpreview.co.uk today "just in case", a bit early yet blush but the children's aut/wint coats do go out of stock very quickly.
I wonder if the Boden shop closing date is when they restock with the autumn stuff then smile. I've still got the four jackets I bought on 20% off last week - unworn and returnable to be bought again if they get cheaper.........
Hmm that;s interesting OhDear, could this mean a crossover period twixt offer and sale..?[senses unforseen opportunity]
Tried that on uber gorgeous (but alas too savvy) 18 yo WS employee last week Ollie - got standard 'somewhen in July' response, damn -they train them too well to toe the line these days.......

Boden sale starts Friday 3rd July, according to a the customer services lady I spoke to a few days ago.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 12-Jun-09 19:19:06
Please would someone go into a White Stuff store, walk up to the youngest/most innocent member of staff (often Saturday sales staff) and ask when their sale starts???? Have used this sneaky yet effective stratgey in the past and it works! (I would but don't live near a store - honest!)
Thank you BG. That is far too late IMHO also. Are the Boden staff allowed to spill do you know?
But I hope I'm wrong.........
Boden is always on a Friday, always used to be on the first or second Friday of July, but apparently you can tell by the day the shops are closing, so it looks like Friday 17th July - much too late, IMHO!
I don;t know but have signed up for white stuff emails as have my eye on tons of lovely stuff that can;t really afford!
Does anyone have any idea when they start?

(I have an sneaky inkling Boden sale may start 8 July as I've just had an offer code through which expires on midnight 7 July, but am not 100% sure.)

If anyone 'knows these things', please spill.

If I can make my £ stretch twice as far I'll be ever grateful. Ta.
