Help! Dress for friend's wedding probably won't fit :(

Have a beautiful mint green silk dress in this style www.alexon.co.uk/en/sexy-sateen-dress-548876 from a previous wedding that I was hoping to wear again to get my money's worth - and because I love it. Pretty, flattering, comfortable. The jackpot basically.
Only I'm 5 week's pregnant with #2 and the wedding is mid September. I just tried the dress on and it's already too tight across the bust.

I have got a bit of extra weight - if I diet very carefully do you reckon I'd fit the dress by Sep or should I just start trying to find something else to wear, in which case - any suggestions of something along similar lines to the dress linked above, but that would also accommodate a 14/15 week (second time around) bump?

I really don't want to wear the same dress I wore to 2 weddings last time I was pregnant (hot pink maxi dress with flowers on). There are way too many photos of me in it, plus it might be a bit 'summery' for mid/late Sep.

If it helps I'm dark blonde with green eyes and a light tan, and (when not pg) a fairly classic hourglass, size 14/16.

You might be lucky - I bloated loads in the first few weeks and wasn't much bigger by 14 weeks.

I would probably get a new maxi dress that you can wear loads between now and then too, and dress it up for the wedding.

midnight blue beautiful and a bargain and still available in a 16 - i'd go for something like this and save the green one for after the baby, as you'll be so early in the pregnancy that fitted body con style will most likely give you the awkward 'is-she-pregnant-or-just-bloated' look.

Hi Eatscake, saw your post in the March group and am in same position wondering what to wear to something at about 14wks. I'm not a regular on S&B but love the ideas here. Agree with pp that body con at 15weeks will be difficult as it's unlikely a bump will actually look like a bump by then.

In my last pregnancy, I had lots of success with this shape of dress right up until about 6 months when I switched into actual maternity dresses.

They can be really flattering as fit your current body shape but make the most of your new "assets" whilst providing plenty of space for the dress to flow over any bump or bloat!

here's another and the ones with long sleeves similar to / copies of THAT Issa dress could last you longer into the winter too. Phase Eight and Kaliko often have lots of those shapes in.

Hope you find something you like, there are some great sales around to snap up a bargain still.

It might be worth spending money on a maternity dress as you will be pregnant over the festive period.
