I REALLY like these boots by Isabel Marant:
www.selfridges.com/en/Shoes/Categories/NEW-IN/Women/Dicker-suede-ankle-boots_783-10004-3747333129/?previewAttribute=Tan
but I'm not going to pay £375 for them.
So I found these:

What are Ash boots like? Well made? Comfy?
And is this a nicer colour than the camel?

I do love this colour, as long as the picture accurately represents it. But camel might go better with more things, especially with the spring and summer coming along.
Any thoughts anyone??
Thank you!
Might wait until I am not off my face and try the size 39 again whilst wearing tights/thinner socks....
These are sooo the boots I have had in my head for a little while as ones I need to buy. So another buyer here
I'm a 39 lately, so ordered the 38. They are tightish and can only be worn with thin socks or tights, but they have given over the past few wears.
Slippery soles though and I went arse over tit the other day, but I'm not sure I can blame the shoes for that!!
Justasecond - have you ordered them yet? You asked for an update! I think the colour depiction of the Prune on the Brand Boudoir site is accurate. Lovely colour! As for me - I didn't realise the Jalouse had no side zip and I can't get them on over my stupid high instep, so that answers that question. I'm still a bit too high on prescription-only pain relief to decide whether to keep the Prune Spirals - not sure whether the 40 is a bit too big (I ordered a 39 as well, which is definitely too small). Is this reality, or is it a hallucination? Who knows!!
As so many of us seem to have bought these, maybe we should scrap the idea of the Mumsnet Scarf, and make these the Mumsnet boots
?
I think I may just have ordered a pair too....
Spending way too much time on the Internet pays off sometimes!
You lot are bad. I have just ordered them. That spending ban went well then.
Ditto mrsRogerStirling-thanks for link jolliejollie-have just received my Ash Spiral-they're great bargain.Bought the Ash Jess Bis last year and loved them too.
My prune Spirals have just come and are gorgeous. Love them, colour is so nice and the toe is slightly rounded compared to my Jalouse. Fab bargain, thanks for the link joliejolie Size wise comparable to Jalouse, I am a euro 42 but the 41 fits great in both styles.
I am tempted by the prune spiral too, please do tell what the colour is like irl when you get the boots OP (and I hope your stay in hospital is not too serious)
They have some v similar to the dickers in Russell and Bromley too, they are very pricey, not much less than the dickers (£295 I think) but the maroon colour which I love is on sale atm for £100- still a lot but the main reason I didn't buy was the thin leather soles, not practical for me at all. I would have to spend money on top of the price getting them rubberised or whatever it is you have to do to make them waterproof. Would link but sale shoes not on their website. I think the style is called Paris.
These boots are copied in every high st shop now even primark so paying nearly 400 would be daft! They all look pretty similar
Ordered them in both colours! Lovely, lovely customer service - ordered them over the phone and asked them to delay shipping because I am in hospital next week. They guy was so kind and has given me an extension on the 7-day return policy in case I am still not feeling well.
The only problem I may still face is what to do if I like both colours....
Thanks to everyone for advice and special thanks to jolie who found the reduced ones
.
Just to confuse the issue, I bought these as I wanted the Dicker boots but budget didn't allow. They are vv nice, although not as closely related as the Ash.
Thanks for the tips on sizing. Will check out Top Shop too. Think will order both and see what they look like.
I've just had a pair of Jalouse in Wood Ash. They are lovely but they are very big. I'm always a size 4, I ordered 4 and they are huge! I'd advise you go a size smaller.
I've had my Ash Jalouse for years. I have two pairs and wear them every few days. They've lasted very well and the stone ones have even recovered from an unfortunate red wine incident. Good quality. Slightly large fit on the Jalouse.
My friend has the Ash ones and the Top Shop ones. She says the Top Shop ones are much more comfortable! I ordered them online yesterday. Really want the Isabel Marant ones tho!!!
It's so hard!! Thanks for everyone's suggestions
.
My Jalouse are Wood Ash, they are a lovely colour, go with everything, a sort of dark brown/ grey colour.
I have Ash Jalouse in a dark brown and love them. I have just now ordered the Ash Spiral in Prune thanks to joliejolie's link.
Must stop late night shopping....
I second Jolie. I got my ash ankle boots last year and bowies this year from brand boudoir and happy with the lot.
Buy them, buy them.
Hmmm. The wood are very nice and are a practical colour. I'm not practical at all though and would always go for purple!!
I have the Ash Spirals in the camel colour, they are very comfy and look great with skinny jeans.
I had tried lots of other ankle boots and they all made my short legs look even shorter, these don't so I love them.
I bought mine from Style-Passport a couple of weeks ago reduced to £75, I also ordered the Jalouse but found they were a bigger fit and looked too large around my ankles.
oooo!!! thank you! Except you have now made things harder, as I have found them in Wood in my size (other places were out of stock)
!!!
These might help you make up your mind. Bargain! I just bought a pair of Bowie trainers in this prune colour from this site and the service was excellent and colour is gorgeous. Thought about getting these too, but can't afford both.
