Looking for a WOW dress. Not black. I like the phase eight Paloma dress in scarlett. Where else should I look?

I'm 5ft 6 and a size ten.

Frasers online always has a lot of choice, I think.

Avoid Monsoon or Coast though, I would say, as lots of people buy there for balls.

I noticed today that Zara had a couple of long, ball-type dresses in their new collection - one pink and one floral print.

TK and Mango may be worth a try too.

I do like Coast but I think you are right that its easy to replicate someone else. Nothing worse than turning up and wearing the same dress as something else.

I am going to a ball in 2 weeks and am eyeing them up.. Not cheap but at investment

There is a dress also navy on the house of fraser site called Eliza J which has sleeves. I just wonder if anyone can link it for me or tell me what you think. It has sleeves.

YES thats the one. Not too frumpy?? Its a school ball and dh will wear his uniform so don't want something too sexy, though like the Fran dress on Aftershock but the back is a bit fussy.

Just saw an ad on living ( oh the shame) for www.wishwantwear.com and you can hire dresses from there. You could get something fab for the night, worth doing if unlikely to wear a ball gown again.

I love the Eliza J in the deep purple (which they don't have any more - can't find anywhere else) and the black but it is rather frumpy in the navy, I fear.

Actually the phase eight one came in navy and didn't look as cheap as the red. I still like the first navy one you linked too on aftershock.

It'd be wow in black with red heels and vintage hair & make up.
