Hi all,
I recently bought a parlux hairdryer through an Amazon seller. It's been a big faff actually getting the thing from them. It's arrived and has a European 2 pin plug. I just wanted to check that other people who have bought them in the UK have UK plugs before I complained?
Thanks!
Claire
I got one 2 weeks ago off eBay and it came with a UK plug.
COMPLAIN
I bought one and it came with uk plug...agree you need to complain
UK plug bought direct from Parlux
Like NoelHeadbands. It's a great hairdryer though!
Can I ask though is it worth getting?
Leedscatgirl - Parlux has transformed my hair. I have boob length hair which I wash and dry (and straighten) every day. My old hairdryer was always on its hottest setting to try and dry my hair a bit quicker. Result was a frizzy mess.
Now, with my Parlux, my hair dries in half the time with half the heat needed and I don't need to work the straighteners as hard.
Get one, you won't be disappointed!!
I want to get one too but not sure what model to go for, there's so many different ones! Also any recommendations on a cheap but reliable retailer who stocks them?
I have the compact Eco 3800 (neon green one). Bought via an amazon seller and had a UK plug. Definitely complain - they know they are selling to UK residents so unless it said about the plug they are in the wrong.
I like mine a lot - reduces the need for straighteners a lot.
Anyone know how they compare to ETI hairdryers?
Brilliant dryers, Parlux. Worth every penny.
And mine has a UK plug. However, I've also had one (years ago) with a US plug, which worked fine with the appropriate adapters in the UK and abroad. If getting a refund or exchange becomes to big of a faff then the once you have should be fine used with an adapter.
*the one
Now looking at Diva hairdryers after a quick search on here and they look good £45.00
Uk plug here too.
I love mine.
This gives me a great idea for a present for DW - her hairdryer is on it's last legs.
What are the differences between the various models and where's a good place to get them online?
Bought from the UK with a UK plug.
Ageing - I have the compact 3500 (it was the cheapest). I 'think' they are all much of a muchness though might be wrong on that.
Your wife will love you forever which ever model
UK plug bought from Sallys
I've complained to Amazon. I'm hopping mad. The seller is based in Italy (this wasn't clear when I bought it) and they're telling me that I have to pay £45 to send it back to Italy for a refund even though the seller didn't make it clear it wasn't for use in the UK when I bought it.
Has anyone got any advice for me on how to handle this? I'm really upset as I bought this with my Christmas money.
No way!
That's terrible! It didn't say anything about it when you bought it in the small print?
Keep on and on and on at them. Did you pay by credit card?
There's an Amazon dispute procedure. A while back I bought an electrical item from a 3rd party seller on Amazon and it was faulty. I sent it back to a UK based returns centre - but the original seller did not refund or exchange. I followed the Amazon dispute procedure and they investigated. It took about 10 days, but I got my money back.
As for Parlux, it looks like Amazon and eBay are out, so I'll be trying Parlux UK as they look reputable.
I bought my Parlux on Amazon, but it was a UK seller. I wouldn't recommend them though (the seller, not the Parlux - that's brill) as the first one they say they sent never arrived and they tried to make me chase it up with the post office. It was a hassle getting them to send another one.
Definitely complain via Amazon, that's absolutely appalling. Get your money back and then buy a Parlux via a UK seller. Best hairdryers ever.
I went through the dispute procedure on Amazon, they're telling me I have to pay £45 to return it
Rubbish!
Just get one of this and leave them really bad feedback to warn others
