I love the deep red/burgundy hair thats around. But how can i tell if i will suit it? Im light blonde and naturally mousey. Chemically enhanced blonde for many years. Grey eyes and freckly but tan easily. Anyone got this hair colour? Is it easy to wear? I think it will probably wash me out but i think its amazing
I have it. The thing to know is that it does fade pretty quickly, so you'll have to dye it more often. I use a semi-permanent by Garnier at the moment, so you could try that and see how it is on your skin? Or wash-in-wash-out thingies if they still exist... I've never gone blonde, mind, so I'm not sure how dying after bleaching works out - if you can afford the hairdresser or generally get your colour done there I'd check with them first.
I'm porcelain, freckly and have deep blue eyes, and a deep red really makes my eyes stand out. My natural colour is a very pale grey-brown but I suit red considerably more
Thanks fridge :-) im going to consult a professional!
i have dyed red hair
i love it, i just do it myself, i use the schwartskopf xxl live colour. and agree with fridge, it does fade quick
you are lucky as you are blonde the colour will take brilliantly on your hair
mines dark brown so never quite as red as i would like, and i dont want to bleach it first as too damaging
My hairdresser has cut a bit of my hair and is going to dye it as a test! Exciting!
What sort of make up do you wear? I think my pale lashes will look funny
i don't wear much make up, and hardly ever wear mascara / eyeliner
but i have dark brows though. and am also quite pale, dont know if this will help you
Which xxl colour do you use? Im not sure but i think i want a cherry red. Im naturally pale but freckly but i tend to self tan :-) and i have light brows and pale grey eyes. Do you have favourite clothes colours to wear? Sorry lots of questions!
i use "red passion" or "real red" ...tbh i think they are the same
and i wear any colour clothes really, no idea if any particular colours look bad or good with red hair though lol. and i used to fake tan, just not been arsed lately as i have barely had any skin on show as its been so cold.
just go for it! its only hair
I have similar colouring to you I think, I'm blonde at the mo but have had dark red hair in the past and loved it. DH has banned it though
it wasn't massively bright or brash, I think it was subtle enough and suited me but he likes having a blonde wife
You will probably want to wear more makeup to balance the drama of the colour, and you can reassess what colours to wear clotheswise too - bright reds and blues will make the colour pop.
I have it at the moment, I have naturally brown grey hair and green eyes.
I have had every colour hair there is, mostly blonde for last few years but this is the first time I have tried this colour and everyone loves it - including me!
I have had to change some of my wardrobe and make-up to fit in with it but that's been quite refreshing
Easiest way to tell if it will suit you is visit a wig shop and try it on.
Or upload a photo and go on one of the online hairstyle sites and you will get a better idea
Good idea ! Need to find a wig shop! Everyone i ask says i look better blonde but ive never tried red and just have a feeling i will like it. Fed up of the bleaching and yellowy ends!!
I'm a blondie (very pale skin, eyelashes etc) and I went red for a while!
I loved it .....but you need to re-do it often. Scott cornwall toner for red helps give it a boost in-between.
I did wear more eye make up but mainly because thats my style, it added some warmth to my sking and I didn't look quite so dead
.
I will say though - be sure you want it because it is a bitch to get rid of!!!
I can imagine once you get it youre pretty much stuck with it for a while! Thats my worry. Appt booked for weds!
Its not so much the red, its when I decided I cba to keep up with it or afford it really .
I had a few weeks of ginger (and I mean ginger) but it was either the ginge or have bright blonde roots and red ends.
I managed to get it back to a really pale strawberry blonde (which I quite like) , and its growing out subtly!
Good luck!
Oh and if you do it we need before and after pics!
From your description I think a bright red would suit your colouring really well
I went from blonde to red about 2 years ago. And yes, it's a bitch to get rid of and the regrowth can be nasty (the roots are grey now, used to be mousy) if left long enough. But it's unbelievably worth it IMHO.
I'm a lazy mare so I get the hairdresser or do it. An all over tint then Goldwell Elumen over the top. It's like a top coat and oh so shiny AND doesn't fade nearly as fast as home colour.
I did mine with home kits, was so much cheaper than my current full head of highlights! Keep considering trying a home blonding kit but just know it's a bad idea... but dark brown and red I found easy enough to do at home and seemed to make my hair lovely and shiny, especially compared to the effects of blondifying.
So now im thinking cherry red ? Or Emma Stone red? Or Amy Childs red? Cant do links on phone! So want to do it but a bit scared!! My friend said oh well you can always shave your head!!
cherry red! or amy childs red - go bold and bright
I have it. Pale skin, blue eyes, light freckles. I've had loads of compliments on it, far more than when I was brown/blonde/lighter red shades. I do wear mascara most days though as otherwise my eyelashes are lighter than my hair which just looks a bid odd imo. Brown mascara for day, black if going out.
If you have the balls for it go bright firwengine red.
It will suit with your pale skin.
If you can't quite face that then buy a slightly darker one (Amy child's) but make are its still got the brightness!
Am
