Christmas is over, it's nearly spring...I read beige will be on trend this spring. Anything else?
I've just applied a sort of nude. It's nice, but could get boring.
Currently wearing this
Ooh, nice. My research tells me to go either very pale, or dark, as you have. Interesting.
I can't be doing with very pale- I don't know whether its my skin tone or what but it always ends up looking a bit anaemic. this is another one of my favourites.
I'm always a bit dubious of red. I wonder if I can actually carry it off.
Beige nails sound horrible. But then I hated last years taupe trend too. Don't get wearing bland unattractive shades just because they're deemed to be 'in'.
For me it's either really dark (navy, black or red), pin up red or matte brights (pink, lilac, turquoise).
Nails have to be short and squoval. Long ones are hideous. Especially if french manicured <bokes>
I quite like taupe for work.
Long are hideous, yes, but I do like a decent French manicure. You don't often see decent ones these days, though.
I think it's about getting the right tone of red. I had my colours done in the summer and came out as a deep summer so suit blue toned reds hence the cherry red. Any red that is a warm red one looks shit on me.
My hands are very pale, I am very pale as a rule. Should I stay away from these colours?
DD bought me Dior Purple Mix for christmas . I love it . I have only this year stopped biting my nails so I love painting them . Also have a deep red . Short and square nails here.
I'm in spring mode already and am wearing a lilac colour from nails inc that was free on a magazine last year.
But am going to put chanel april on later.
Love the cherry red upthread (and I'm a hoc summer too).
According to Red magazine, it's all about the natural look - I like opi bubble bath.
Find beige and taupe make me look like I have dirty nails or a nail infection!
Essie
Goes with all my grey tops and cardis.
I'm currently wearing the new nails inc leather effect black polish
I have a bright lilac on, it doesn't make my hands look deathly pale as a lot of shades do.
Essie chinchilly here.
Had a nice Sally Hensen purple grape colour on a few days ago.
I'm currently wearing Nails Inc in Victoria (dark cherry red). I tend to flit between this and Tate (cherry red)
sweetheart what's the leather effect like in real life? I'm yet to try it since I treated myself to 3 bottles of Nails Inc polishes at Xmas
and you can't see it that well in the photos that I've seen
It's kind of like a Matt black polish. It's sort of rough and it took me a while to get used to the texture. I'm thinking its not all that special......
Mine are currently grey. I LOVE beige though. And dp bought me some dark brown for Christmas. I also like navy and black. I like red on my toes but it doesn't suit me on my fingers much.
So maybe not worth paying all that money for it?
I have a matte black polish that I do my whole nail in, and then do a "tip" with a shiny black polish, like a french manicure style. I might just stick to that then...
ummm I'm undecided as yet - probably not worth £19 though! I took it off last night and opten for another colour instead of reapplying which probably says it all. It chipped pretty quick which I was dissapointed with. I'll have to give you black french manicure a try though :-D
Can I just recommend the fcuk nail varnishes. Mum brought me a gift set from Boots last year - it had red, grey, plum, clear, burgandy and a dark green in it and they are my fav nail polishes - mostly because they wear really well and hardly chip. Boots did another set this year with slightly different colours in it which I may have to go and get in the sales.
Ooh Sarah lund I love that grey! I wear all sorts of colours all year round. I need to paint mine tonight or tomorrow though and undecided what colour.
