That's an instruction, not a request! S & B just isn't the same without you
A lot of us W&A girls bought this Primark dress - it's not all Harvey Nics and NAP!
Oh my god Amber, that skirt is lush bags. As is the primark dress!
Lovely purchases Amber, love the scarf especially.
I also bought these, not sure if the studs etc is a bit over now but I love them so much

I like those justasecond, I think they are a bit Chloe. Good colour as well, versatile.
Teacakes what fabulous links on your tumblr. I'm going to be addicted.
What I want but probably can't afford:
Navy leather saddle bag
Textured spot dress
More of what I want:
Kurt Geiger courts Just bought these!
This Barbour Liberty print shirt
This bracelet watch
Also just found a vintage Theory black velvet blazer, really slim fit and arse length, so happy about that! (was via ebay US for £20!).
How cute are those saddlebags?!
Here's my contribution - haven't worn them yet and they're bloody reduced! Waiting for the pavements to dry - and, tbf, I've been pretty much laid up for the last couple of weeks.
ANNELINE, thankyou, I wish they ere all mine!
Potentially pretty white blouse - maybe a bit plain around the neck though. Not polyester
.
Another vote here for getting A&W back! I liked the high and low end mix in A&W - I haven't the energy for Primark or Zara but loved the fact that other people were hunting out the gems and I don't know where to start with designer stuff but seeing other people's links has helped me identify what brands I like (APC, Anglomania, Acne, DVF). Even though I can't afford a wardrobe full of that stuff becoming aware of them has given me a better eye for spotting good stuff on the high street. Left to my own devices I would only shop in Gap and Hobbs and would look terribly boring!
My plan for this year is to be exactly what the original thread was trying to do - be wise in my clothing choices. I have spent a lot on tat in the past but reading various threads and Mumsnet vogue has got me thinking about my wardrobe so I have put together a list of things I actually need and I'm going to hunt out the best versions I can afford this year.
My list includes indigo and black jeans, decent black jersey dress, chelsea boots, well fitting trousers for work, biker jacket, semi fitted pale grey jumper, decent bras, a work suitable blazer (not black), and a leather converse style shoe - all very basic and hopefully I will make purchases that will then be basis of a flexible wardrobe. Apart from tights and knickers I have banned all other purchases and have set a monthly budget. Getting the biker jacket will require a 3/4 month shopping break I suspect.
Mrs CB - I have no idea what the white shirt you saw in US vogue is like but I saw this one in mint velvet the other day and it's gorgeous.
What's A and W ?
spud Avid and Wise. As in avid shoppers that make wise choices.
Thank you. But you all sound lime you are size 6 if you get size small in Zara. I'm xl there.
think that is the 'sad' smiley - hate the new smileys!!!
Spud I avoid Zara like the plague as trying on trousers there leaves me weeping as I cannot get into size 16 AND I AM NOT A SIZE 16....
Oh I would LOVE to see A&W back too. I hauled myself out of the post baby style doldrums with the help of the lovely mix of links and ideas that I found when I had time to check the thread and it really brought back my old pre baby confidence. I could never post as was too shy tbh and also lacking in confidence but I owe that fantastically fabulous group of mumsnetters a huge thank you for helping to get me back on track. As lovely as the mnvogue thread is I dont need Vogue - too high end for me - but I would love something that mixes High Street with the odd bits higher up and helps me seek out the bargain gems. A&W ers THANK YOU and if we can start something up again I promise to join in and share my ideas this time.
LOVE that skirt, Amber.
I haven't been following the 'Vogue' thread but assumed that had taken over from A and W. But apparently not!
So barely 12 hours since I said I don't do Primark and plan to buy quality clothes this year I spotted this little beauty at the front door of my local Primark on my way to work and ran in and bought it for the grand sum of £10 (reduced from £25), It looks great and it's warm!
Have justified the purchase on the basis that it will satisfy my biker craving until I have saved enough for a decent leather one!
Help! I have just bought a beautiful pair of dark green skinny jeans which I am in love with (got them in the sales reduced from 100 to 20 so very pleased as would happily have paid full price for something I've been looking for for so long!). What do I wear on my feet? I am so used to wearing my long black boots or my long brown boots in the winter that I don't know what else to wear but I am slightly worried about looking like Dick Whittington
I would wear the green jeans with either of your long boots. Or you could try ankle boots.
I have green skinnies and green cords. I wear ankle boots tan or black, ugg noiras in choc brown, or on v dry days (i wish!) ash wedge trainers. All seem to work and get good comments.
MrsCampbellBlack - happy new year. Are you on Pinterest?
TheSandstoneCat, dark green jeans would look good with leopard ankle boots or flats, or perhaps dark grey suede. I used to have some green suede ankle boots that always seemed a bit Robin Hood, or Peter Pan, so I know exactly what you mean. Plummy shades good with green too, I think.
Libertychick great find I've not seen these jackets irl yet but may be a bargain if the quality is reasonable
