I'm trying to decide which to invest in! I've been using my clarins beauty flash balm and a smoothing one that I have a tester pot of and its ok, but I've heard a few rave on smashbox?
Mac
I have the smashbox one and it is really nice. I also like Laura Geller spackle.
I've been using Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer.
It's great under make-up, really smoothing and evened up my skin tone nicely. It can be worn alone too but I found it a little pale without a touch of blusher.
It was £11.99
Smashbox - it's fantastic.
I also like the smash box primer. I had a loreal one but did not like that so much. I have been tempted to try the bare minerals one.
Another vote for smashbox. I find it helps my foundation go on really smoothly and makes it last longer.
Smashbox every time!
I love benefit porefressional although I haven't used smashbox-sounds as though it might be worth a try!
Smashbox Illuminating one, or Benefit Porefessional. These were both given to me, so when I have to buy my own it will Barbara Daly or Avon Magix.
i use Lancome and i love it, i use half the amount of foundation and it goes on really smoothly and evenly.
Lancôme la base is my favourite out of all the ones I have used.
Smashbox is fab but i save it for special occasions or I break out - think it's silicone-heavy. I've been using the Laura Mercier one day-to-day, it's a lot lighter.
I use Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier.
Ok just looking at the smashbox primer and there a few different ones-sorry to hijack op-but just wondering which one you go for? Or does it depend on skin type? Will be visiting a counter to purchase if I do so can ask then
Other than that as heirextensions says the Tesco Barbara Daly one is good
I use Avon magix - they usually have a special so never pay more than £7. It's as good as expensive ones I've tried, but I haven't tried smash box.
Lancôme laBase for me. Got back from Amsterdam 24 hours before our luggage a few weeks ago, so didn't have it to put on in the morning. Couldn't believe the difference, and one of my friends said I looked "really rough"!
Smashbox Photo Finish Light or Laura Mercier Radiance are the best IMO. MAC Prep + Prime is v good too. (Am a MUA and those are the ones I use most for weddings as they make things stick all day long.)
Smashbox is ace
Laura mercier does very little for me and feels all wet. Won't be buying it again.
I have tried the Laura Mercier one twice and I just can't get on with it. I also used a Mac one (in a kind of pump) which I thought was fab.
I use the Rimmel one, £6.99, and it works for me, although I've never tried a more expensive one so can't compare!
I have combination skin with an oily t zone. Use Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation....I've used Rimmel (pants on my skin), Laurier Mercier (so so) Smashbox (over priced but okish, can break my skin out and feels a bit heavy) YSL (ok initially but seemed to separate under my foundation) and Philosopy, The Present ( initially brilliant but then my skin seemded to be getting oilier ?) Am currently using No7 Airbrush which is pretty good but expensive at 19.50 for 30ml and I don't think of Boots own brands as being "high end" cosmetics so grudge paying this much.
I'm going to get another sample of the Philosophy The Present as I'm wondering if it stopped working because of the moisturiser I was wearing underneath it. For everyone who likes the Smashbox primer, I recommend buying a tube of Lanacane anti-chafing gel. Sounds disgusting, I know, but it has an almost identical formula ( a bit smoother than Smashbox actually) and a fraction of the price.....
Barbra Daly - tried lots but this cheap as chips product is amazing!
The thing I found with the Barbara Daly is that it disguises my lines and then I often don't bother with foundation!
