Outfit needed for xmas meal out - please help!

Going out for an xmas lunch and then round town for afew drinks. Plan to wear black trousers but don't know what else! I need a nice top and a dressy jacket/coat. But I am a size 18, 5'4" and apple shaped. Any suggestions would be welcome ....please help me!

Haven't got time to respond properly but hopefully this will set the ball rolling - how about a black top with sheer sleeves, a bit like this

River island have some beautiful evening shawls in at the mo all velvety and sparkly here Get a nice plain top and wear one of these over, the black one is gorgeous I bought it for my SIL for her birthday and it looks great.
