I need something to combat dry skin on my face NOW!

Help!

About a week ago I had dry lips and I stupidly put baby bum cream on them overnight...

I woke up looking like the joker.

The redness has gone now and I've been alternating between diprobase and oilatum cream and I thought it was OK now,

I've been makeup free since it happened and just put my foundation on and it looks awful, my sins all dry and the foundayions clumping.

I'm going to a big Boots store later, what should I buy??

Don't care what it costs as long as it sorts it by Friday!

Thanks

You need Aloe cream from The Body Shop - wonderful stuff. If you like a light cream then go for the day cream if you like a heavier cream then go for the lotion ( it's more of a thick cream) and the night cream is wonderful. If you order on line there is an offer atm.

The code is TREAT and you get £5 off when you spend £15 or £10 when you spend £25 or £25 when you spend £50.

It's seriously good stuff, far better than Liz Earle imo.

I just typed a massive post and the site went down for a minute and it disappeared!

It is very gentle. I have rosacea and ridiculously sensitive skin -look at the reviews on TBS website - loads of 5 star ones.

Get the day cream which is about a tenner iirc and then if you like it you can order on line as I usually only pay about £4 with promotion deals.

Do you know jodieharsh on MN? She started using it after having bad skin - she did a thread - and it's sorted her out a treat she said.

I've been using it for about 6 months and it really is amazing, my skin has never been so good.

There are a few products and I would recommend day and night cream and anything else you fancy is a bonus :)

Avene skin recovery cream is excellent for dry, sensitive skin. I find it very soothing when my skin is sore and irritated. And you can get it in Boots.

I got some La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume as recommended here for some flaky patches on my skin. Have only used it last night and this morning but does seem to be working!

Another vote here for The Body Shop Aloe cream. It's cleared up the red, sore, dry skin that has plagued my face for years. I can't recommend it enough.

Hooray!!!!

I use it as a mask as well - cover face thickly and leave for ten minutes and then wipe off.

I usually can't put anything on my face as it just burns, but this is lovely.

Good! If you live the day cream you will LOVE the night cream!

I got the night cream. I think I'll get the set with the cleanser and toner, it might match my Liz Earle if the rest lives upto the cream!

Drink lots of water and eat more foods containing essential fatty acids: nuts, seeds, fish, avocado etc.

another body shop aloe devotee here, i went a bit crackers ordering a glycolic peel, at home microdermabrasion and retin-A then trialled them all haphazardly in my all consuming quest for youth with (needless to say) disastrous effects.

i was left with a nasty red scabby dry bit near my nose, on which EVERYTHING stung....except the magical aloe stuff Grin

Imo, aveeno is the best cream ever for dry sensitive skin. About a fiver from boots for 300ml.
