I've not really got into reading blogs, so am very green about them.

I love fashion, am a magaholic and think Id enjoy reading some good blogs. Now I'm in my 40's I struggle with getting the right look so that I'm not mutton but still stylish - any blogs that can help would be fab.

Any ideas?

Bangs and a Bun is good, doing a lot about running at the moment but has some good fashion tips.

Go Fug Yourself - funny

this one is written by a very-nearly-40-year-old and is called 'Not dressed as lamb', i.e. dressing age-appropriate.

Real person in her own clothes, is that the kind of thing?

WipsGlitter · 23/02/2012 22:19

But she is dressed as lamb! She looks ridiculous. And she's doing the "Alexa Chung I've just pissed myself" pose as well.

I get the WIT one which I quite like.

Hatesqvc · 23/02/2012 22:34

I agree with wipsglitter she look ridiculous.

drywhiteplease · 23/02/2012 23:03

I wish I could remember the name, but there was a great little blog from someone in the US who decided to wear a new outfit every day for a year, combining all her clothes and accessories to get new looks each day.

It helped that she (a) had a photographer husband who photographed her posing winsomely on a daily basis, and (b) had a slim figure, model good looks and a killer wardrobe.

Good blog, though.

More down-to-earth, though, I also like the School Gate one mentioned above.

MinnieBar · 24/02/2012 07:35

The one I posted is written by someone I knew yonks ago. Stumbled across is via Pinterest and although it's not my style mostly because that is the generic 'stressed mum in ill-fitting jeans' look I do like how confident and happy she looks.
Ultimately I am amazed that anyone has the time to do all of this, right down to coordinating rings, and also that they have that many separate outfits. Possibly I'm a bit envious of the latter.

KandyBarr · 24/02/2012 08:01

Cointreau That sounds like Kendi Everyday which celery mentioned. She's got a photographer husband.

Wipsglitter hilarious!

I like Le Blog de Betty - not that I'm young or pretty enough to dress like her, but her enthusiasm is infectious and she's got a great eye and great shoes. And some ideas are OK to copy. Though I've just checked her site and it's down at the moment, but here she is on Twitter.

AgeingFop · 24/02/2012 10:40

What about The Fashion Police? Usually quite funny.

You're all being mean about Not Dressed as Lamb - I think she looks great! Even if not all her outfits "come-off". But, then, I don't get all this "Too old for certain clothes" thing. If you like it and you think you look good in it, go for it!

Need to find something similar for men.

QuincyMincemeat · 24/02/2012 11:02
