Just thought I'd say to all the new posters out there who are struggling, as I am, to come to terms with all the emotions and problems of being a step-mum - if you can buy this book please do so! It will make you feel so much better. Maybe not quite as much as down-to-earth, 'he/she is being an arse', common sense approach you will get from all the amazing women on here but there you are ;-)
Seriously though this book has rationalised / justified / explained every single one of the (as I thought) not very nice emotions I am suffering from at the moment. It's no quick fix but it has enabled me to understand my feelings, even if I can't make them go away. Chapters 5 & 6 particularly were of great assistance.
