Ok, so we went to Pamper activite fit day in London!

(48 Posts)

Its started with the terible thought of dragging a buggy though London, but hey for a chance to have a free lunch, meet some mumsnetters, a celeb and get a gift pack. I decided to risk it.
So one word of warning, always take a strong pair of arms with you if plannning to go inot London with a buggy and a heavy child, this for me came in the form of my lovely sister SGK grin skinny as she is, she is surprisingly strong wink
We arrive late in suitable fashion and greeted by a very nice young man, and told upstairs in where we are (leave buggy downstairs)
So walk inot room full of ladies, few in boden and take a seat. Now trying to work out who is a Mnetter and who isnt.
Have to say everyone is friendly and we meet someone who is part of the pamper staff who tells us there is "12 Mnetters, 4 bloggers and about 4 other "real mums" LOL we had to ask how come we arent real mums (evil me)

There is a huge playmat for the kids, loads of toys and coppas amounts of tea and cakes (yummy). Kids had great fun on a large light mat, and my mad child spent a lot of time on it.
We had to listen to a lady talk about the inners of a nappy and how this new version is better, but to be honest the only really way to prove it to me, as a mum is to give me some to try. they didnt disapoint, have come home with 2 packets of nappies, packet of wipes, a packet of changing mats and best of all a MN book grin

The food was nice enough, if not a little on the heavy side but nothign for the kids, but one lovely lady (not a mnetter either but a staff memember) ran out and brought cheese, ham, yghurts and cucumber for them, so was very impressed

Now there was a celeb there, Mel C who was very nice, and we had a great convo about being covered in baby sick and snot wink and she was good enough to have a pic done with my little one too. Also met the lovely Carrie, who was lovely and who i was very impressed to hear normally rides her bike to work and got to meet her lovely niece and nephew who were very yummy indeed.

Overall a great day, DD2 had a great time too.

BUT it is my true belief that we should have a badge for Mnetters as I spent have the time asking peoples names, which reply was "Im Sarah" yes but whats your "other name" LOL

Thanks loads

I'll send all attendees the link tomorrow - please do keep it on email rather than on the thread in case folks don't want others to see it.

sent you link via FB, hey who you talking too? Im trying to call you

Me too. I have promised DD we can get a copy of the one of us together.

It was my back you could see in the Sun blush I didn't know the pics would be used in the media

can I see the link please? There was loads taken of me blush

AnnMumsnet (MNHQ) Thu 22-Jul-10 17:59:40

am trying to do a photoshare thing....getting there (non tech here!) will email link when I have it.

the mop top girl is very sweet!

Agree - link and password?

Mine's the one who had one shoe on and one shoe off for most of it, and we were both wearing blue.

Well could you send a link to all the people that were there? Or are they a file download? If so upload them to a site and password it. Then put link and password in email to those that were there??

Mines easy, she the mop top curly girl and im in purple trousers and black top

I've got the photos - just trying to figure out how to show you them - any ideas? There are lots of piccies and none of them are named!

Oh, so no dc's or anything?! (Having said that, maybe I wouldn't to have my dc's 'newspaper photo debut' in the Sun <<snob>> )

Hope they email a link soon - I'm dying to see the photos and it looked like the photographer got some really nice ones of ds playing.

The Sun hmm only pic of one MNetters back and Mel C

Ooh, which paper was that?

I didn't get Gemma's email - and still haven't received anything in my inbox.

Ok just seen pics from the day in the paper, so now wher are my copies? LOL
Anyone get Gemma's email?

We've (well, ds ) been using them for a few days. Haven't had any reactions or anything so far. Did have some leakage from a night nappy one morning though. (Think ds had weed in the night, and then done an extra wee in the morning when he woke up and before I had managed to get him changed).

Have to say, I nromally would never ever buy pampers nappies, mainly because I cant afford them. Im very impressed with these ones. They dont sag when wet, and DD2 seems to be ok with them too

oh and yes, they said they will email us a link to all the photos and then we can email them back and tell them which ones we want and they will send them to us (I am guessing by email) so we can get them printed.

I had a fabulous day, the food was great, I too didnt realise I was sat next to Mel C for a while.

I had loads of the little cakes with rasberries on top yum, and with breast feeding 2 of them, I am always starving, but I ws certainly full when I left.

There was a light installation thingy, DS absolutely loved it, he spent about 2 hours on it. Im not sure if I missed the talk on the importance of play??

What made the day for me though was that everyone, from the trendy PR London Guy through to Mel C's assistant, all the staff and the other MNetters were happy to hold baby MJIN do that I could run around after mini MJIN. Its not easy to do baby and toddler and make sure both are OK so it was great to see baby MJ get loads of fuss.

Mel C was just lovely, really down to earth and clearly loves kids.

I really enjoyed meeting the other MNetters and seeing all their beautiful childre spec Harimo.

I then went to the Natural History Museum, spent the night with friends and the day in London the next day - the Science Museum was AMAZING (thanks whoever recommended it to me), and Harrods Toy Department occupied DS for another 2.5 hours.

London with a HUGE pram, 2 babies a large bag and the freebies was hard Thursday, so Friday we walked EVERYWHERE.

I will be product testing the nappies over the next few days, but I would like to say to Pampers, everyone, staff wise was lovely, I was most impressed with the venue, and if you do another product day, can we come please!! (I think we would pay to come ourselves)

Harimo Fri 16-Jul-10 10:19:05

And you, allstarprincess - Your DD was just lovely!

Good luck with the new baby!! smile

We went too. DD was in purple and insisted on running back and forth. I was not very good at chasing her as I am in the last throes of pregnancy. Sorry, once again, to the little boy she bumped heads with.

Apparently the pic link will be emailed to us either by Ann or Carrie.

It was a lovely day and I am looking forward to giving some detailed feedback on the products etc.

Nice to meet you all.

Eh???? I didn't know costs would be refunded!!!
