Its started with the terible thought of dragging a buggy though London, but hey for a chance to have a free lunch, meet some mumsnetters, a celeb and get a gift pack. I decided to risk it.
So one word of warning, always take a strong pair of arms with you if plannning to go inot London with a buggy and a heavy child, this for me came in the form of my lovely sister SGK skinny as she is, she is surprisingly strong
We arrive late in suitable fashion and greeted by a very nice young man, and told upstairs in where we are (leave buggy downstairs)
So walk inot room full of ladies, few in boden and take a seat. Now trying to work out who is a Mnetter and who isnt.
Have to say everyone is friendly and we meet someone who is part of the pamper staff who tells us there is "12 Mnetters, 4 bloggers and about 4 other "real mums" LOL we had to ask how come we arent real mums (evil me)

There is a huge playmat for the kids, loads of toys and coppas amounts of tea and cakes (yummy). Kids had great fun on a large light mat, and my mad child spent a lot of time on it.
We had to listen to a lady talk about the inners of a nappy and how this new version is better, but to be honest the only really way to prove it to me, as a mum is to give me some to try. they didnt disapoint, have come home with 2 packets of nappies, packet of wipes, a packet of changing mats and best of all a MN book

The food was nice enough, if not a little on the heavy side but nothign for the kids, but one lovely lady (not a mnetter either but a staff memember) ran out and brought cheese, ham, yghurts and cucumber for them, so was very impressed

Now there was a celeb there, Mel C who was very nice, and we had a great convo about being covered in baby sick and snot and she was good enough to have a pic done with my little one too. Also met the lovely Carrie, who was lovely and who i was very impressed to hear normally rides her bike to work and got to meet her lovely niece and nephew who were very yummy indeed.

Overall a great day, DD2 had a great time too.

BUT it is my true belief that we should have a badge for Mnetters as I spent have the time asking peoples names, which reply was "Im Sarah" yes but whats your "other name" LOL

Thanks loads

I'm actually quite pleased I didn't have a name badge with my mn name on! (Although it would have explained my normal look of bags-under-eyes, zero make-up and continuous bee-line to the coffee )

Was a fun morning though and ds greatly enjoyed himself with the double-whammy of knackering himself out so he had a good sleep on the way home.

Erm, not sure - I was wearing jeans and a blue cotton cardi (still am actually) - ds was in the blue top and black and white stripey shorts. He was the one who was scared of the light mat thing for ages and only ventured onto it once everyone had left that room. Did I?!

I think I'll join you in that - I can't remember purple linen trousers.

The pastries were nice, weren't they?! Chocolates pretty yummy too.

Are they going to put the photos up anywhere do you think?

I liked the mini eclairs. I think i had one of the younger babies there but she seemed to quite like the motion activated lightshow. And the hummus.

I was talking to Melanie C for a while before I realised who she was...

It seems that these "events" def need an introduce yourself bit - we were the same at the fragrance testing day - didn't have a clue about anyone!

Thing is, Im so daff, you could tell me and then i forget, especially the ones with long names or those I dont reconize

Have to say when I told people my name they were like "ah yes, umm I know" not sure if thats a good thing or not!

Lisa - I'm like you. Especially in situations where I talk to lots of people I've never met before in one go.

And then I always get shy at these things and never know if I should mention MN to someone, or perhaps they want to keep their posting name private or what. (Make it sound like I go to these things all the time, just went to the Stella / Gap thing other than this event)

MrsGF - did I sit next to you for lunch? Your dd was loving that hummus (she has a gorgeous smile )

Yes, you did, and thank you I'm pleased your little boy enjoyed the light show in the end.

it's not Boden, she was in a Mini Mode babygro as, tbh, I was expecting a poo explosion that never came.

Hi Lisa, I think that was my little girl you held; I was so grateful to eat without a little hand reaching into my mouth plus she had a great cuddle with you! It was really nice to meet you and your sister. Your little girl is just gorgeous, my DD and I have hair envy over her cute curls.

Hope you guys had a good trip back!

Oh, I'd also like to ask if it's possible to see all the photos that were taken?

and I cornered a product development scientist (note, NOT a marketing/pr spindoctor) over lunch and asked her a bunch of awkward questions - thread to follow when I have caught up on the housework and done the tesco shop

and I am going to do some tests on the free nappies wrt run-off volume etc, but probably not until next week

Play expert was the lady with the brown bob hair (?) and white shirt.

I didn't give my email to the PR lady either - can you put it on here? Or is that too public?

We went too. DD was in purple and insisted on running back and forth. I was not very good at chasing her as I am in the last throes of pregnancy. Sorry, once again, to the little boy she bumped heads with.

Apparently the pic link will be emailed to us either by Ann or Carrie.

It was a lovely day and I am looking forward to giving some detailed feedback on the products etc.

Nice to meet you all.
