Hi all,

I know I don't post on here very often but i often read the threads!

A while back I did ask for some advice about being refused the DLA which everyone of course told me to appeal. I was really at a low point in my life (not for this reason alone of course) but from somewhere I did actually manage to read all the advice from various areas including yourselves - I appealed and got accepted!!!!!!!

Thank you for helping me, I just thought I'd update you if anyone does remember me asking and in the future if anyone ever wants to see my appeal letter if they are in the same boat they are more than welcome to CAT me.

Thank you for reading!

A happy Sax

RnB - For some reason i got the higher rate for personal care (obviously nothing for mobility cos doesn't really apply).............

I don't know if it helped in the appeal letter asking that if refused I wished to know the name of the person who has evaluated it and come to this decision and what relevant and up to date knowledge and experience they have of ASD because I felt this pertinent for my claim advice from someone who has a way with words!!!!!! LOL

Thanks, just goes to show you have to persevere and not be put off by those absolutely soul destroying forms! I hope everyone appeals these decsions cos I do believe to have come to both decisions so quickly that the forms were never actually read in the first place!

Exactly the same thing happened to me, appealed and got higher rate!! Well done, you must be on a real high at the moment.

I don't understand it either Sax - I think they have a flow chart and the first box says ' Refuse claim , make them jump through hoops just to see how serious they are' How can they say no and then go to the other end of the scale and award high rate - it just doesn't make sense.

Glad you persevered.

Brilliant news, Sax! If ds2's application gets turned down I may well be CATing you for help with the appeal letter - particularly the bit about asking what experience/knowledge the person handling the case had wrt ASD.

If you need it Coppertop do let me know, I am more than happy to send it to anyone who needs to know - I didn't know where to start so someone showed me theirs which I found invaluable!
