today is our anniversary of sorts - exactly a year ago we arrived here in Aus to start our 'new life'.

Amazing a year has gone already - best thing we ever did although miss friend and family left behind in the UK.

Dd1 was commando crawling when we left the UK - now she is walking with and without her walker.

Dd1 knew one makaton sign and no real words - now she knows probably over a hundred makaton signs and uses about half that - says 20 or so words.

Dd1 was still using bottles or bottle to cup trainer bottle - now is able to drink from cups using straws.

Dd1 was finger feeding but not self feeding - now feeds herself very nicely - that is only since the early part of this year.

Dd2 was a 17 week foetus. Now she is almost 7 months old and so scrumptious. She is rolling everywhere, grabbing for everything, has two teeth and adores her big sister.

Dh and I - a little older, more tired ( thanks to dd2) dh has a job he loves, I get to stay home with the dds, have a lifestyle we would not have been able to have in the UK.

Do you think it was a good decision

Great decision obviously and what a difference a year makes! Hope that life continues to be this good for you all.

Obviously a great decision eidsvold .

Also - the changes in your dd1 over a year give me so much hope. My dd sounds very similar to your dd1 a year ago - and I think is about the same age she was then (she is 2.7) so if my dd can also make that much progress in a year I will be thrilled!

Sounds like your "new life" is just fine and dandy. So happy for you that things are going so well.
