I know someone else with that!! Last time she came to lunch I'd make a flan and put red pepper in it, and she couldn't eat it. Her allergy is all capsicums - chilli, paprika and bell peppers.

since DS1 was around 6wks old, occasionally i have broken out in hot itchy hives. No known cause.

long story short

im allergic to paprika! The problem is, it doesnt have to be labelled specifically, just as 'spices' and often 'natural colour/flavourings'. But its in loads of stuff thats reddish and spicyish cos its cheap and does the job well of adding lots of colour and a dash of taste. The final clue was in a GF, low sugar/low salt, organic sweet and sour sauce.

paprika allergy? now thats just wierd...
