Proud Mummy moment.. we had a day out at Regents Park today (to feed the squirrels which sadly were mostly hiding) and stopped off at Greenwich at a noodle bar we have been to before. The kids stuff comes served on one of those plate-tray type things.
We wrestled 5 yr old DS into a high chair (he doesn't like sitting in his
wheelchair to eat..) and he
sat in the high chair, with his plate on the table (previously he would just
knock/throw plates on the floor) and ate it ALL with a fork!!!! He has been
doing this at home... but this is the first time he has done it in a
restaurant! I am so proud of him and told him I am going to tell EVERYONE
what a good clever boy he was! So I am !!
This is such a breakthrough. I thought we would be spoonfeeding him for ever.. and would never be able to trust him with a plate, at least not in a restaurant!!

PS He ate so much that he got stuck in the highchair.. he really is too big but this is something of a dilemma.. do others find this? And we had to make a real spectacle of ourselves trying to get him out.. (taking off Piedro boots etc.. lol). Then a lovely chinese man breezed over and unclipped the tray! D'oh! We knew it had to come off.. but couldn't see how..! Thank God though.. was visualising the fire brigade....
