Head shaking and leg banging - normal?

Just wondering if anyone else's LO does this? When DD3 is tired, she shakes her head from side to side quickly when she is trying to go to sleep so she has a big bald spot on the back of her head. She also lifts her legs up and slams them down on the mattress over and over again. I don't know if she's trying to do it to settle down for sleep but it seems to keep her awake. Any ideas?

Yep. Completely normal (I think) my DD (7 months) does this every night.

Sorry, was going to say, I have no idea why she does it but she usually settles after so I haven't been worrying!

Yes. DD has always done this. We had to put her in the cotbed earlier than planned, as she routinely pushed herself up to the top of the cosleeper crib, due to the kicking, & woke up every time. Bigger bed solved the problem.

She only seems to do it whilst lying on her back. This morning she was sleeping on her tummy with her face on the mattress. Strange baby!

Yep, my 6 month old does that too. A right pain as it aggravates the eczema on her head!
