So my nearly 5 month DD's sleep has got worse and worse. We used to co-sleep, but this didn't seem to help anything and she's now waking every half an hour. She wants feeding back to sleep. Tried NCSS which helped and helped me get her into her cot (right at the side of my bed, with my hand on her tummy!).
She won't nap. It takes an hour to get her to sleep but she'll only sleep for about half an hour at a time. I'm lucky if she gets 90 minutes day time sleep a day.
So I started pu/pd today. She didn't seem particularly distressed by it, and has had two 90 minute naps this afternoon! Both of these in her cot, and I was able to come downstairs and leave her to it. A first!
So... Any tips or thoughts for tonight? Do I need to do anything differently? Be aware of anything? She still needs night feeds so I plan to feed roughly every 4 hours (I know she can go this long) depending on how often she wakes and what time.
Is it pick up put down? I did that with my DD because I was too much of a wimp for controlled crying. It worked - the first night was hideous, I think it took 3 hours, the second night took around 15 mins and from then on she was content to be put down awake and settle to sleep without crying. Apologies if you are talking about something completely different!
