Early risers support thread - somewhere to rant until the clocks go forward

Hi - I've noticed a lot of threads re early risers. My 9mo DD is also an early riser (normally around 5am). 530am is a lie-in in this house and I can't really remember the last time we got up past 6 (oh yes I can it was 615 and DD had been up from 11pm-4am solid).

I thought maybe we could have a support thread? I know from bitter experience that there can be a LOT worse than early starts - for example, the not sleeping all night phases- so I dont want to come across moany. In fact I'm very grateful for an early start with an uninterrupted night. However, some days I just want to scream with tiredness.

So maybe we could have a support thread for days like that? And maybe we could compare notes so that if we do miraculously get a lie in past 6 we can try and work out if we did anything differently....

I can only dream of a 615 lie in let alone an 830 one!

My 21 month old son wakes anywhere between 4 and half 5 and has done since 8/9 months old. I am so tired I don't know what more I can do to get him to sleep any longer. Tried controlled crying but I live in a small flat and have a 5 year old son who needs to be up for school also directly downstairs in my neighbours house sleeps a 13 year old girl also up early for school and I have to think of them. Tried everything else but nothing works he just likes getting up early!

My 7mo always wakes for the day around 5. That's after waking a minimum of 3 times a night too. Joy! Man am I looking forward to the clocks changing!

Ihaveforgottenmyname- you have my sympathies. We've only been doing this for 3 months and its a killer. DH and I go to bed at 930 but still constantly knackered. do you think the clocks going forward might help? I'm thinking shifting DDs entire routine by one hour might help <hopeful emoticon>

We had a 515 wake up this morning but DD was awake from 2-345. She has big dark circles under her eyes so going for an early bedtime - at least hopefully she won't then be overtired even if it does guarantee an early wake up.

Dd had a long phase of getting up at five am. Now at eighteen months she sleeps until six, mostly. Often wakes at night though. It sucks this time of year.

I really hope the clock change does help I think some of the waking might be down to teething.. he almost has all his teeth! It just feel wrong being up at this time of the morning! 4.43!! He will no doubt be asleep by 9!

5:15 here! DS is23 months. I am insanely tired, especially on the days I work.

We've tried everything, but now i've just accepted it and am trying to look on the positive side (weak laugh).

DD, now 5, was the same, but now sleeps until 7 most days. So it does get better. Hang on in there.
