Transition from Amby Hammock to cotbed

Hi,
I hope I've started this thread in the right area.

I have a 6 month old and I want to move her from her Amby into her cotbed.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice please?

I put her in the cotbed last night and she did stay there all night (with the now usual few awakenings Sad) but she's finding it difficult to nap there today.

Thanks.

marking my place- no suggestions- DD is 8months and want to keep her in Amby a bit longer but on occasion she has thrown up in Amby and woke every two hours in her cot having been sleeping through. Sigh! I may even get a toddler hammock I love em so much, but anyhow we are getting her to nap in her cot sometimes but find her naps are so much shorter so I keep going back to the amby. (DD was orginally in bedside cot and only in amby for daytime naps but when she started rolling too much and getting stuck we started using amby more and so she will sleep in cot but has never slept through like she does in Amby!)

I did read about someone using a karribiner to stop the bounce of the amby for a few weeks, then put the amby in the cot for a few more weeks before completely transitioning out which I thought was a nice gentle way to do it.

I did

Tried at 9mths with no luck but managed it with no trouble at nearly a year (after DD2 broke the spring!).

Don't try. We've just made the transition at 7.5 months. She's been napping in her cot for a couple of months though. Took her a while to nap in there but as she was used to it the nighttime transition has been fine - no more wakings than usual.

Good luck!

We've yet to make the transition with nearly 7 mo DD (ATM she's waking so flipping often that I can't face trekking between rooms all night) but we did it with her older brother with no preparation at all.

He was about 7.5 mo and we found him sitting up in it after a nap one day. Went out and panic bought a cot, which he took to at night with no problems. Never did crack the daytime napping in the cot, I'm afraid Hmm. But it doesn't seem to have adversely affected him and he napped well in the pushchair, car, on a mat at nursery, on a bed with anyone other than me (again Hmm ).

Definitely gonna try to crack the nap-in-the-cot thing with DD though.

Thanks everyone.

She went down with only a little struggle tonight even though being in the big cot seems to confuse her.

Be interesting to see what she's like for naps tomorrow.
