French resort with a newborn - any recommendations for resorts with zero-effort non-activities?

We're planning on going away in march with DD1 who will be 3, and DC2 who will be about 5 weeks old (Jesus Christ that sounds barking now I've written it!)

I won't be skiing but would like to get out of the chalet once a day with the baby to go for a wander, maybe go to a nice pool or something. We're thinking morzine - will there be enough there to keep me occupied for a week?

Ski resorts, in general, are really boring if you're not skiing. Morzine is okay, as is Les Gets (next door). According to this website there is a public pool in Morzine. I might be more tempted by somewhere like Chamonix though, which is a bigger town with a bit more to do. Or not! Having a 5-week-old is all a bit of a blur, tbh, so good for you being chilled enough to contemplate going away with a tiny one.

Thanks Juneau. We've been to chamonix a few times but that was back in pre-children days so non-boozing activities weren't really on my radar. It is a larger town though and I suppose that really that's all I'm after - big enough to do a different walk round the block each day.

I would look at Megeve. It's supposed to be a very beautiful, quaint, car-free village. I can't find the original article I was looking at, but here's another helpful one: www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/france/alps/738736/Skiing-in-France-Chamonix-and-Megeve.html

You are very brave! I can't imagine doing any travel at all when my DS was 5 weeks old! Maybe you should get travel insurance just in case things go differently this time around and you can't go?

Davos would be perfect as it is a normal working town as well as a ski resort. Great skiing. & a lovely wellness centre & shops.
We last went with Extreme but I think the in resort team are now called Synergy Snowsports.
Hope you have a good time. 5 weeks -eek!! It won't be the resort which is a hassle but the transfers. Good luck

watch out for going in altitude with a newborn though.
Not recommended for their ears.

I second Megeve, lovely village, with lovely shopping, restaurants etc...

Val d'isere has a lovely pool and a fairly big town to mooch about in.

Would you take the 5 week old swimming?
Bonneval les Arcs is lovely, small and no traffic, seems to be full of French Mummies and tiny babies, not much more to do than visit Sherpa and have a hot chocolate though! The nursery slopes are in the heart of the village, so you can watch the others.
Morzine and Avoriaz are very high and a bit bleak. If you're heading that way I'd stop at Les Gets.

Moraine isn't high - lovely town, lots of character. Avoriaz is high and bleak
