How about the space time ooblywotsit went all squiffy and messed with the indexing?

I like that you think my answer is closest JJ, but you spoilt it with the indexing comment.

I was hoping you meant the 'space time ooblywotsit went all squiffy' explanation.

I might use that as my totally non geeky answer from now on.

Ack, I didn't see the post where you said "tis me, StG" which has a certain ring to it.

I think I will start saying that to people which will get me committed confuse the hell out of them.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By SaTanicGore on Fri 10-Oct-08 19:07:39
I dunno, I've confused myself now grin
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By JJ on Fri 10-Oct-08 19:05:56
I know you're StG btw. (You are StG, right?)
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By JJ on Fri 10-Oct-08 19:05:18
SG - I'd guess you're closest but don't know enough about indexing to know.

hecate, here's your thread.

Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By littlelapin on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:56:12
DeJa - there are two threads, one in Behaviour, one in Site Stuff, with different titles but the same unique thread number. So both are showing the same posts - is those from the Site Stuff topic
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By SatanicGore on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:56:00
Nappies?

<<looks around>>

'tis me (lifts glasses LeClerc stylee) StG
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By hecAteTheirBrains on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:55:49
sorry, dejavous, obv wasn't clear. blush. the first link goes to unanswered threads and it is the thread listed there entitled Behaviour / development :So DS1 has handed the Tantrum Mantle to DS2, DS1 now likes to run away when we are out......wwyd??!! that opens to the round up thread.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By SatanicGore on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:53:45
MamaG posted to start the new thread at the exact moment (16:04:05) that geraldine was posting on the other and the space time ooblywotsit went all squiffy and this is the result.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By DeJaVous on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:53:28
Am very confused, maybe that was supposed to happened? I thought you meant this thread.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By littlelapin on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:52:40
Nappies - instead of a proper thread title - for example this thread is called "http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/624837-oi-tech" - that thread has an undetermined address. Instead of the topic name, it has "Topicoptname" which is the database name for the field, rather than the value itself.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By DeJaVous on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:51:56
Lapin, your second link opened as this
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By littlelapin on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:50:32
Both that Behaviour thread and this Site Stuff thread have the same thread number - 624746 - they are supposed to be unique

<<scratches head>>

<<looks pleadingly at lapin for explanation>>

Sorry, I'm missing what you mean.

There have been problems with search today as well. It isn't picking up all messages.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By DeJaVous on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:49:55
For me hectates first link opened as Unanswered Threads

Eh?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By littlelapin on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:45:48
Yep, that's the problem. Look at what appears in the address bar.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By CharCharBaGOOOOOOORE on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:42:30
I noticed that before, thought it was strange.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By SatanicGore on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:40:51
That links to the topics page lapin, was it meant to?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By norksinmywaistband on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:40:43
LL that links to the talk homepage
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By SatanicGore on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:39:53
MamaG's post on the round up thread is numbered 12725820, geraldine's post on the behaviour thread is number 12725821.

Maybe something gone wrong in the indexing.

<<attempts to sound vaguely geeky>>
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By littlelapin on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:39:17
That is odd.

By the way, no-one has responded to my query about this small business ad despite several email and two threads hmm
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By SatanicGore on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:35:34
Ooh that is very strange.
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By hecAteTheirBrains on Fri 10-Oct-08 18:32:43
Am I going crazy or does the thread here entitled Behaviour / development :So DS1 has handed the Tantrum Mantle to DS2, DS1 now likes to run away when we are out......wwyd??!! open as this which is something about the round up??

Or have I finally lost it?

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
