lol it's only the luck of the draw if it is set up to be random completely

so it does depend how its done to some extent

I disagree, it's the luck of the draw

I have only won 3 things in 32 years.

1. A pack of crayons from the Womens Own Seekers club my mum joined me up in.
2. A Jar of sweets in a guess the amount of sweets comp in my school fair.
3. Darcey Bussel DVD

Luck of the drawer - stop being a misery.

I have won 4 prizes from MN but have been here 6 years - is that ok with you all? hmm

As someone said, it is luck of the drawer. Why shouldn't people be able to win again?

Radio stations often adopt this policy, you are barred from anywhere between 1 and 3 months. They tell you when they take your details and then send a polite reminder with your prize.

I know 'cos DH is a dab hand at winning stuff on the radio.

Ohh... VVVQ is one of them shock

She has won a fancy pair of PJs AND a Dyson in about 5 years - very bad girl wink

Seriously though - I hope it is random (or maybe I have hit a lucky streak with the Dyson and will win everything from now on?).

random is random, some people are luckier than others ....

wannaBe, I can assure you that our highly technical system for picking names is designed to give everyone who enters a fair and equal chance of winning. <hides large lucky-dip hat>

And we really weren't aware that the same people were winning.

Just to be extra sure everything is properly fair and above board, the lovely Alexia (who spends hours on the phone snaffling us lovely prizes each week) is now going to monitor things closely with a big stick and a brand new spreadsheet.

You do realise that we can never let you win now, though - or everyone will think we were favouring you wink

I was hmm about the one child family section too. What difference does it make how many kids you have? CAn understand the Large families as having 5+ kids must put different demands on a parent, but going from 1-2 didn't make a differnt Mum with different needs/things to discuss.

luck of the draw.

but while we are moaning thalking. I dont' like the new 'one child family' section.. I have an only child but what's the point? I even heard someone suggesting a topic for SOHMs.. if that appears I will quietly leave lol

I disagree. Its just the luck of the draw
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By VinegARGHHHTits on Fri 10-Oct-08 13:13:51
So if you win a toaster one week you cant enter the comp for a holiday the next week? imo you should be able to enter for as many comps as you want
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By wannaBe on Fri 10-Oct-08 13:09:03
It seems to be a lot of the same people who win.

I rarely enter so this is not about me.

I just think it would make it a bit more fair and give everyone more of a chance of winning if the same people weren't able to win all the time.
