There was a bit of confusion because originally I read it as she wasn't coming up at all on that thread about breastfeeding. She she was when I looked, but only once. Anyway, I gave it a kick and Aitch's three posts now all show up.

However, I don't know why they weren't showing up before. The indexer is complicated and a bit of a black hole - we toss in all the threads, cross our hearts and hope it works. If you find another thread where it happens do let us know.

Downwards for me.

As for your other ideas, they're good ones. Unfortunately they go on a very long list of other good ideas that we'd like to implement, but unfortunately it's a very long list and we're very busy! However, the prospect of forever love may just mean it gets moved up the list. No breath holding though please.

You must be the only person on mumsnet to have not noticed the rocking horse thread followed by all the C* threads.

Oh come on...you only had to read 9 posts....and 9 short ones at that, and it was an ermgency given that I had panicked Aitch into thinking that poor little Aitchlette was really poorly.

Anyways...to get back to the key subject (all of which is detailed above if you could have been bothered to read [yawn].

Search under the Username "Aitch" with yesterdays date as a limiter. You get 4 posts returned, on 4 seperate threads.

But if you look at the thread I linked above (or below; are you an upwards boy or downwards boy (sorry that sounds so rude it is not supposed to blush); anyway my post of 22:29:36) you will see that she posted 3 times on that thread yesterday.

But the posts on that thread which were written at about 08:30 and 17:23 by Aitch are missing in the search (and still are)....and I wonder how many of Aicthed other posts have gone missing in cyberspace???

Anyways...can I have a sidechat with you? Is that allowed on my own thread? Well I am going to anyway?

On the search function you can automatically fill in the dates with the "today" and "yesterday" buttons. would it be possible to enhance this functionality with radio buttons which say
"last hour" (maybe)
"last day"
"last 3 days" (maybe)
"last week"
"last month"
"custom" (alongside the current date boxes)?

Please? It would be really good? I would loove you forever...

"I only linked cos that is the thread which the search function appears to have lost."

Okay, now how many private side conversations do we have to read before you tell us what you were searching for such that we can investigate your problem? wink grin

She is fine. They were out round town later in the afternoon. proud of exposing her breasts again so all must be well grin.

what?! What trip to A&E?!
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By OhWellNeverMind on Sun 28-Sep-08 22:18:09
Yes.

I searched "aitch" with today as the limiter.

I was checking aitchlette was after her trip to A&E. It came up with 3 posts from today - none from her bf thread. One was this morning before 10am. I would have thought that would have been indexed?
Contact the poster Contact mumsnet about this post By littlelapin on Sun 28-Sep-08 22:15:31
Is it recent? Posts all have to be indexed... although I found the same thing yesterday, two posts by the same person on a thread, it found the second but not the first

Was searching for a post which I new existed.

It didn't find it.

Then I had to find the post manually so I know it was there.

Tried searching again and it deffo didn't find it.

Have your servers fallen out already....have they had an argument? Are they refusing to talk?

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
