Zombie's Welcome to Mumsnet E-mail

Is every MN user being sent one?

If this email is intended for new members (particularly those who joined via the App and have the now dreaded user######### default nickname) then Zombie thinks you need to be a bit stronger on asking them to change their nickname.

Oh, I thought we were all getting a personal welcome from Zombie and I was about to complain that I hadn't got one Blush

Maryz, Zombie thought she'd been here for 5 years or so but then this e-mail arrived a couple of days ago and she started to wonder. Bear

Worra, WELCOME to Mumsnet! Zombie hopes you enjoy your time here. Tardis

Seriously, is Zombie the only oldie to have received a welcome e-mail?

It starts by saying: We're just checking in to welcome you to Mumsnet and see how you're getting on. It then goes on to mention the Talk boards, MN Local, Reviews, etc. The last line is: .. and if you haven't changed your given Username yet please do feel free to over here.

Maybe HQ are trying to tell Zombie something. Shock

Maybe they are preparing for the apocalypse. It doesn't hurt to have some zombies on their side.

I think their 'length of membership' counter has gone into reverse.

Zombie maybe HQ feel that you have not been sufficiently welcomed. Are your feet only 99% under the table?

I got one from MNHQ yesterday saying "we'd just like to double-check that you're a human being before we go any further."

Lweji, Zombie has always sworn to protect MN in the event of the apocalypse.

Just5, Zombie hadn't considered that possibility.

Notbig, Zombie thought it was 100% but perhaps her feet have grown without her noticing.

Rusty, Zombie trusts you were able to reassure them.

For comparison, this is from Zombie's original Welcome to Mumsnet e-mail dated 11/11/2010.

Thank you for registering with Mumsnet. We're delighted you've
decided to join our community ("the UK's most popular meeting
place for parents" The Times) and share your experience and
know-how.

To confirm your registration, all you need to do is click this
link {link removed by Zombie as she couldn't disable it} or cut and paste it
into your address bar and then you'll be able to post on our
Talk boards www.mumsnet.com/Talk - all human life is
there (plus pets, horses, chickens and slebs).

Hmmm. Your first email didn't mention the undead, zombie. Maybe they felt they hadn't covered you properly first time...
