Photos no longer displayed in message Preview

Until recently, any images were included in the preview for a post. For the last few weeks, the preview only shows my text.
After I post, the photos are displayed correctly with the test.

I use iPad Air 2 with IOS 8, access Mumsnet via Safari and I haven't upgraded my hardware or software versions since Christmas

Yes, it's annoying, isn't it? I noticed it a few weeks ago.

What happens if you accidentally attach the wrong image, which could 'out' you? It takes me much longer to check that I have attached the correct image; whereas in Preview you can see immediately.

I'm on a pretty ancient iMac, OS X, Firefox.

Photos have been acting weird entirely. I've lost pages, a few times, because they no longer open in a pop up and I've accidentally closed the window - that's both in firefox on my windows 8 laptop and Safari in iOS8 on my iPad.

It was a useful check facility which we would like resumed

The way photos work seems to have changed recently - they open in a blank page now (on the same tab) rather than a pop up like they did before.

It's better (IMO) because it doesn't add hundreds of virtual pages so you have to press back seven times but it might be related.

But when you click back, it takes you back to your bookmark, so you and up having to find where you'd got to in a long thread. I'm trying to remember to open them in a new window to avert that problem, but my brain isn't laying ball on that one.

For some obscure reason I can't see any pictures at all unless I have posted them myself. Using Chrome on an iMac.

Only I've opened about 4 threads today and been tantalised by messages like "What do you think of this?" and seen conversations which clearly suggest that everyone else is viewing a picture.
