Can we have a lilac emoticon please? Someone mentioned it on the thread and I think it would be lovely.

A lilac emoticon would be wonderful. Please Flowers

DontDrinkandFacebook · 12/03/2015 17:42

Can someone explain the lilac emoticon to me please? Is it something to do with his disease?

RIP Terry Pratchett.

BaronessEllaSaturday · 12/03/2015 17:45

The lilac is taken from the Night Watch book, they all wore lilac so they could identify each other they then wore the lilac every year in memory of those they lost in battle.

DontDrinkandFacebook · 12/03/2015 17:48

Ah, that's nice. I read only one TP book once when I was about 18 I think. Can't remember much about it but I remember it was good. Smile He obviously touched many people deeply with his work.

SoupDragon · 12/03/2015 17:51

I don't think an emoticon is needed TBH. Use words, just like he did.

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/03/2015 19:20

If only we were that good SoupDragon. I don't have the words. Sad

BikketBikketBikket · 12/03/2015 19:55

If only I could use words like that..... I'd love a lilac emoticon. So, so, sad Sad

Jennco · 12/03/2015 20:39

Yes, a lilac emoticon pretty please x

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 12/03/2015 20:57

Me too, pretty please? Even just the flowers emoticon in purple would do. Pleeeeeeeeeeaasse?????????

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 12/03/2015 21:16

@SoupDragon

I don't think an emoticon is needed TBH. Use words, just like he did.

Would agree with Soupy for the time being -afraid I don't know whether this is possible quickly (imagine it's unlikely).BUt will see what we can find out.

CarpeJugulum · 12/03/2015 21:18

How do they rise up...

MrsTerryPratchett · 12/03/2015 23:13

Thanks for thinking about it. I've just spent the afternoon reading the thread in Chat in tears. It's OK if you can't get one sorted MNHQ. I've spent the afternoon amongst old friends on that thread. Maybe Soupy is right.

Couldn't get lilacs at the flower shop either. I'm informed it's too early. Too bloody right it's too bloody early. About twenty years. Sad

Spot on MrsTP. Waaaay too early.

At least the little sad face is sort of lilac coloured. Perhaps this Sad Flowers would work.
