Ok, there's smile, grin, and wink. And now there's flowers, brew and wine. Faaaairly positive.... but the rest are drear
Couldn't we have some ways of expressing support, encouragement, understanding etc - just ways of being nice, like you would be to a friend.
Eg sympathy, [perhaps a hand to hold emoticon], a proud/you're doing/done really well [a rosette emoticon?], congratulations [balloon?], understanding [nodding head?!].... you get the gist.

I recently made an ironic comment and a few posters went - 'are you serious???'
So how about an emoticon for sarcasm and/ or irony?

... since we are on the subject, a rolling of the eyes emoticon would be good.

Trills - me thinks you prove my point.
Shouldn't they be nearly all positive? Mn is such a positive place [I agree totally BS we do need an irony one].
Seriously, we need all the help we can get to keep mn friendly, positive and naice imho.

The

No, you have to use words instead.
So [empathetic] or [arf] or [grumpy]
There is so much more that can be said with a nice-placed word rather than a generic emoticon.
Though I still want a snigger
