Is it just me or are other people seeing weird underlined parts of posts that if you hover over there are adverts for compensation firms etc? Confused

I'm not seeing this.

Pascha · 05/05/2012 19:56

I think you should run a full scan on your antivirus software.

PinguFanatic · 05/05/2012 20:00

Sounds like some adware has installed itself on your computer. I think most antivirus software should pick it up.

celticlassie · 05/05/2012 20:03

I've noticed this too. Clicked on what I thought was a link and it took me to a 'free credit check' site.

Mspontipine · 05/05/2012 20:08

I can't see it either.

5318008 · 05/05/2012 20:16

celticlassie · 05/05/2012 22:40

It's somethink called 'Text Enhance'. I googled to remove it and found that one of its names is BCool, so went into the control panel and uninstalled it. So far, it seems to have worked. (fingers crossed)

celticlassie · 05/05/2012 22:42

Good Lord - Something. And 'Googled how to'.

MyelinSheath · 05/05/2012 22:43

It's a virus, I had it a while back.

RebeccaMumsnet · 06/05/2012 00:42

Hi all,

This doesn't sound right at all.

It looks ok from our end but we will ask Tech what he thinks and see if he has any advice.

MissAnnersley · 06/05/2012 00:47

I had this too. It was driving me crazy. My browser is google chrome. I clicked on the spanner, went into settings, extensions and removed, I think CODEC-C.

It's now gone.

Puffinsaresmall · 06/05/2012 11:00

Hi, it sounds like you've, probably inadvertently, downloaded a toolbar or browser extension that does this. This page explains how you can disable extensions in chrome. If it's not obvious which extension is the problem, try googling their names in turn in another window to see what they do. That should show you which one is the problem. Hope this helps.

Puffinsaresmall · 07/05/2012 09:40

Thanks tech, appreciate it Smile
