Slow typing

DutchOma · 05/12/2011 20:04

On some threads, not all the printing of my text is way behind my typing it.
It isn't happening on this thread, but on the Graham, Gloria and Gossip. the Christian Prayer thread and now also the one that CupofTea has set up in children with special needs.

Any idea why this may be happening? I have run the cleaner, emptied the recycle bin, eaten deleted all the cookies, what else can I do?

Nobody any ideas?

If it's just some threads it might be an advert slowing up your computer as it downloads and then plays.

See if you see one particular advert every time it happens.

RowanMumsnet · 06/12/2011 16:02

Hello - sorry to hear about this, it sounds annoying! Is it still happening?

Thanks
MNHQ

DutchOma · 06/12/2011 16:48

Yes, it is. Not on here, but on all the threads I mentioned earlier. The adverts are all different too, Boden on the first one, MN guides to everything on the second and tfh special needs toys on the third. Nor problems on Arts and Crafts.
It's so random and, yes, annoying.
Thanks for helping to sort it out, Rowan.

It's not just me then? Yay. It did it this morning and last night but it's ok at the moment.

DutchOma · 07/12/2011 11:33

It's still sticky on the threads I mentioned but not on others.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 10/12/2011 08:11

Now it prints the whole sentence at once, after a little while, but only on the threads I mentioned, not on here or on personal messages.

Oh dear.
I think we thought this was fixed. Sorry that it's not.
Please can you tell us which browser youre using and also which topics that it's happening on too?

DutchOma · 11/12/2011 16:52

I don't post on many threads, but it is still happening on the Graham, Gloria and the Christian Prayer thread. Not on here and not on Nickelbabe's thread either.
I'm using Internet Explorer but I'm not sure of what number, sorry.

Hello again DutchOma

Any chance you could tell us which ad (or ads) appear on the pages when you do this?

Thanks.

DutchOma · 11/12/2011 21:01

I told you which ads were on the 'sticky' pages on Tuesday 16th December at 16.48.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 11/12/2011 21:06

Oh, it's now doing it on Nickelbabe's extended thread as well with an advert for Cheddar Cheese at the top?

OP posts:
RowanMumsnet · 11/12/2011 21:41

Oops, sorry Blush - was that in a mail? We're going to bring this to Tech's attention tomorrow. Apologies again for the annoyance (and thanks for the Cheddar info!)

MNHQ x

RowanMumsnet · 11/12/2011 21:41

No, it was on the post below, wasn't it. I haven't even been drinking. Do please ignore me.

DutchOma · 12/12/2011 07:04

's Alright Rowan. Hope you slept well. I've just checked in and been hugely relieved at the birth of Nickel's baby girl. All is forgiven.
Hope tech can sort it out, it seemed to bug everybody last night.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 12/12/2011 07:10

And it is still doing it on Nickel's thread. With and M&S advert at the top Smile

Hi. Could you follow the steps given at windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Find-out-which-version-of-Internet-Explorer-youre-using and tell us which version of Internet Explorer you're using?

DutchOma · 12/12/2011 10:25

Verion 8.0.6001 187021S?

OP posts:
DutchOma · 13/12/2011 15:19

It's still going on on the Christian Prayer thread, I keep checking but it hasn't changed much, if at all.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 13/12/2011 17:57

Had a look Adam, but that is really far too technical for me. I would have to print it out and then try to do as they say, but really it would take a bit too much time to do all that.
It's just so strange that it does it only on certain threads, but not on others. Also that other people have problems.

It's a bit of a nuisance.

wigglesrock · 13/12/2011 22:13

I mentioned mine on a different thread a few days ago, but still very slow typing on Feb post natal thread - fine on this one. Bit of a pain.

DutchOma · 15/12/2011 08:24

It's stopped on the prayer thread now that I've set up a new thread to replace the one that was nearly full.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 24/12/2011 09:10

It's something to do with a full thread I think. Something after 750 messages.

OP posts:
amberlight · 30/12/2011 09:44

Does this with me too on some threads. Lags down to as little as 5wpm. I get round it by using a text editor and cutting and pasting. Does it in IE8 on Windows platforms on eight different systems, and only for mumsnet entries, nothing else on any other internet board, so there's something amiss, guys.
