This morning Mumsnet was named as the UK's Best Online Comment Site (Editorial Intelligence awards) - chosen by a bunch of the great and the good over much bigger and more established comment sites like Reuters Breaking Views, Comment is Free etc. Really nice recognition that we're about more than just biscuits. In accepting the gong I mentioned that we'd need another million or so for all contributors. Will let you know if they turn up Smile.
Thanks, as ever, for all your sparkling contributions. Up the matriarchy!

Can we have now a catsbum face emoticon as a mark of this momentous event?

We've always struggled with finding a good catsbum - if you can find a good one we could nick we could give it a go (with the caveat that huge numbers of Mnetters don't object). Though as DamianTech has just buggered off vacated the shed for pastures new we can't promise immediate action.

Congratulations to us all indeed.

But don't put down the biscuit. Biscuits have feelings too, you know.

Justine I know a fabulous company that could do your tech stuff remotely...pop in for meetings and design the most amazing system for all staff and advertising copy/finance. He's a small company with a wealth of experience, so relatively cheap for skills you would expect from SAP/Oracle etc.

Aside from that woo hoo Mumsnet. The leadership is fantastic, it trickles slowly down and makes us all feel part of something worthwhile.
