Strange glitch happening more and more...

Bear with me because technology is as familiar to me as David Cameron. Except I've tried to understand technology.

I don't know if it's me or my computer but it does only ever happen on MN.

I'm having trouble clicking 'back' (usually to active convos or threads I'm on). Nothing happens. I can click the back button multiple times and it's like I didn't even bother.

So, if I click on the little drop down arrow thingy next to the forward and back buttons I can see a list of where I've been. When this happens there's always one at the top of the list (as if I've been one page further forward) that says something like 'HTP page not found', then it shows the page I'm on and then one back a page entitled something like 'mumsnet.com/DART'. I have to go back a few pages to get out of the page I'm on.

Does that make any sense? Is it something I'm doing?

Hi SOH. I get that too. It appears to be something to do with an ad on the site.

If you click on the little down arrow beside the BACK button, you should see a list of recently visited pages. Choose the one that does not say /DART.

Could you find a specific link you click on which gives you this problem, and let us know on which page you find it?

I have been getting it to - it keeps flicking 'back' to the same page and not back to 'active convos' of whatever - so I've largely stopped using it and go to the top of the page and click on 'Active Convos' instead - but I'll stop doing that now and will try to take note of when/where and report back.

Thanks slug, I know how to circumvent it, just wondered if it was a known issue and if there's a reason why.

I did wonder if it was an ad thing.

There's no rhyme or reason to it AdamTech afaik, but will make a note next time. It will do it one page, but then when I visit the same page again, it doesn't do it the second time.

Lin, not a clue what that linked thread is on about. But if you say it's the same, I believe you.

All I know is that you get a page not found and a MN.com/DART/summat or other on the list of pages visited.

oh im not sure its the same fault showofhands ! sorry if its not.But the other fault has been fixed,hope yours is soon.

Somewhat amusingly AdamTech, this is one of the pages with the problem

I get it too.

Back button doesn't work consistently.

Eventually, I get a "mumsnet is offline, please try again in 30 seconds" message.
