dd doing well in course -predicted an A
except she fucked up oral and got a D, she said it was a combination of nerves (familiar problem for dd) and inability to think what to say when asked what she thought of Jordan and Peter hmm

teachers were gobsmacked and asked for it to be remarked
came back unchanged

one teacher says retake ,one says not to

predicted grade now a B

this is fucking up her choice of universities

anyone any advice
is there a way to calm the performance nerves

Have huge sympathies with your DD - even up to my finals I was a wreck in French speaking tests sad Couldn't open the door to get out of the examiner's office once as my hands were so sweaty so he had to let me out blush Am now a French teacher and there are so many great students who just suffer with nerves. Would say just to get as much speaking practice as possible - I tutored a girl last year whose speaking was pulling down her grade and just that extra practice raised her grade from a D to an A.

My DD re-took her French Oral at AS - twice!

They thought it had been marked wrong the first ime, had it re-marked, made very little difference (Got a low B). She re-sat it & got a B again, so re-sat AGAIN with her A2 module. She also re-sat her German once.

She is now studying languages at Uni

MIlliays -thanks that makes her feel a lot better. There's hope yet!
I really don't want her held back because of bloody performance anxiety-seems such a shame when she does so well in the rest of the course and really enjoys it.
Hypnosis therapy - ?? grin
