When do we get the results of the English GCSE re-take Fiasco?

I have read somewhere the results were out yesterday? Other places are saying January.

I think there are two separate things being confused here.

The results of the retakes were out yesterday. I understand that 30% of those students who resat the exam got an improved grade with the remainder getting the same grade they had in the summer. One of the exam boards says this is what it would normally expect from resits, but one teaching union argues that the improvement shows that the original grades were wrong.

There is a separate court case challenging the original grades, arguing that the grade boundaries were adjusted unfairly. Judgement in that case is expected in January.

oh i wonder why we havent heard our results eat, not that we were expecting much improvement! And there have been no threads on here about it which is strange.

as prh said the results were out yesterday and the result was as is normal with resists.

So if our dc took the retake exam in november we should be in posession of the result by now.

Dd got her result by informal email on Wednesday (she was pleased to have got the higher grade this time), but the exam officer said there was no official paperwork until January. Perhaps some schools are delaying releasing the results until the proper paperwork comes through? Bit mean if they are as the students want to know.

The results were released by AQA at 8am on Wednesday, with schools allowed to pass on to students immediately.

The barstewards have hiked the grade boundaries for speaking and listening coursework up again. They claim they do it because schools/teachers are cheating. But the boundaries are so high now it's very difficult not to!

The "band three" descriptors briefly are 'clear and consistent'. Band 4 is "confident and assured". In the old spec 'clear and consistent', would get you a C grade; but now that's only a D or E grade!

Yes, all the boards released results on Wednesday.

We still haven't got a result but assume it was still D, as he now has English GCSE the week he gets back (with no teaching since November).
