I called it at the Easter dawn service, and I was right! Oh good, yet another Archers character to mirror one of my pregnancies (I'm 14 weeks) - Helen matched me last time grin

What was with Helen's boyfriend - he didn't sound quite the ticket.

I think he's meant to be just a 'jolly normal bloke' isn't he? That business with the bowling nicknames was weird though...

Golly just when you think emma is getting better - how sour was she with Nic?

PseudoBadger Mon 15-Apr-13 09:13:30

Everything's always got to be about Emma

Good call pb.
I only half-heard the episode with Helen's bf but he sounded decidedly weird - too try-hard, as if he was desperately trying to model what he thought 'jolly normal bloke' sounds like.
Emma's a nasty piece of work. How long before she starts wondering if an extra mouth to feed over at Greenwood Cottage will mean less maintenance money for her?

Ooooh I really hope it does R4 smile

Emma was really nasty to Nic and I was very disappointed. There were real glimmers of her nicer side last year (helping Ruth fix a fence - who knew she could actually be practically helpful on the farm?, grassing up Keith and then trying to help Donna etc). I guess the warring Grundy angle was too good for the script writers to pass up.

It's one of my ongoing frustrations with The Archers there are very few genuinely nice characters in it; I think the closest they have is Vicky at the moment. Linda has her moments too but then they always have to resurrect the badgers or her general busybodyness - I just want some nice straightforward characters...

I'm a bit cheesed off about making Emmur such a bitch. It smacks of turning her into a real harpie. And it doesn't ring true.

I think The Archers are pretty rubbish at character development

Why is Emma so horrid? How can anyone stand her?

I guessed about Nic when she wouldn't hold Bethany, and then was worrying to Will about "things going wrong".

Emma = foul.
