The Archers: Linda's Wolfgang

He died from TB, didn't he? Apparently it can spread to members of the llama family. Poor Wolfgang. Will she change her views on badgers?

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere: can't see a thread.

Isn't the interweb a wonderful thing - I've found a website giving 'help and support for those afflicted by Bovine TB in Alpacas and Llamas'. Did you know that by the end of Q3 of 2012, 68 camelid herds in the UK had TB? That's someting to drop in next time the dinner party conversation is starting to flag.Grin

I feel mean saying it, but I hope that Wolfgang did have TB. Sometimes Lynda acts as if she has only just parachuted in from Sunningdale, not as if she has lived in a farming community for over a quarter of a century.

That is a factoid to play with, indeed.

Agree about Linda. She needs a reality check. Poor old Wolfgang, though.

Aaah! Now that's interesting. I did say to DH I wondered if it was TB...

LS will have to carry out volte face. Or perhaps not?

Oh no! I'd not thought of that, poor Lynda. I have a real soft spot for her as she's genuinely such a good-hearted, well meaning person. She has been especially lovely with Vicky - I thought the episode where she'd been and got the same washing powder so the laundry smelled familiar to Bethany was so sweet.

I reckon you're right though Sad

I hope for her sake it doesn't turn out to be tb. I lost half my herd of lovely alpacas to tb and it is an horrific ordeal to go through. If it is TB then her other two are at a huge risk of having it already. She needs to let her neighbours know as soon as possible. Many owners have lost their entire herds and as you can imagine it is devestating. The website the previous author mentioned is www.alpacatb.org

So do any of you RL farmers have the answer to the question do badgers actually cause TB in farm livestock? (sad) about your alpacas madabout they are such gorgeous creatures.

Well a cull has just been approved in Somerset and Gloucestershire.

Perhaps badger-killer David will roll up with red-faced anger and a big gun to cull the remaining llamas before they contaminate his herd

I second Olivia's roar at haha townie. I love MN archers threads. Sometimes I think I should start following the archers properly just so I can enjoy the threads more.

I missed a few episodes. Do we know that Wolfie had TB and do David & Ruth know yet?

Yet another story just left dangling. Surely they must have the results through now.

And another thing. Shouldn't Ambridge be under 3 foot of snow?
