I would have guessed that ifti-whatsit had a 'q' in it somewhere, but the Archers A-Z spells it 'Iftikar'.

I really hope that LL and Ifty don't become an item. After two years of her going on and on and on about how devastated, distraught etc she is about Nigel, I am not yet ready to move on.
I expect to be disappointed though and am looking foward [sarcasm alert] to Freddie getting confused about Ifty's role (cricket coach? Maths tutor? mother's paramour? replacement dad?)

Paul is grim. But frankly pusscat has a pretty poor taste in men.

I think this massive investment is going to be a failure - Jennifer is going to be right... then Matt will find out about the affair and leave Lillian high and dry with all the debts as he's only a 'consultant'.

Pip is highly irritating, actually so much so I think that this part is quite well written.

I used to think Paul was just dull, but I agree he's pretty creepy now. I really don't find this storyline very believable.

However, I'll go one further than SenoritaVita and say that not only is this big new investment going to be a failure, but Matt already knows this. He realises that Lilian is seeing someone else, so his revenge is for her to lose all her money.

Hmm, interesting theory but I don't buy it. Business is all about trust and confidence; Matt won't want to damage his standing by another failure, revenge against Lillian would not be as important as his reputation. He got burned by Yvonne in the divorce so I'd bet that he has some 'heads I win, tails you lose' set-up with pusscat.
Lillian is being pathetic about Paul. A few years ago she was dreading growing old alone and Matt was her salvation. Now, aparently, she is prepared to risk that security for a fling. If she totally abandoned Matt for Paul then I could understand but to throw everything away for a tawdry affair is stupid. She cuts a very sad, needy figure.

The idea of JD being a financial expert makes me . We had her quizzing Lillian at the same time as Peggy was asking Tom about his plans. Both scenes make me larf. Lillian and Tom both flannelled and said 'trust me, I know what I'm doing' and neither offered any concrete evidence by way of figures. Dunno why either JD or Peggy were supposed to be convinced.

So... Lillian said he's looking tired and he claims he is feeling absolutely fine. Me thinks he doth protest too much... Surely this is classic code for 'dying of terrible and incurable illness'

Also, I'm sick of the crooning over Bethany. I heard how much of a water baby she was three times in three days last week ( not sure how it happend but same episode on Thurs/ Fri and Sunday).
