Lillian is not looking good in this. She seems to be throwing herself at anyone in trousers who will spend lots of money some time with her. I'm sure that it is due to deep-seated insecurities or whatevz (remember she used to be scared of growing old alone and Matt was her 'rescuer') but she is behaving badly.
I wonder if it will backfire and she ends up with neither of them.

I think Paul has got a secret wife or partner...he may have been single when Matt was in prison, but that was AGES ago.

Paul gives me the creeps and there is something weird about wanting to shag your brother's partner. But the Archers do love that storyline or variations there of.

I too adore Lilian but wish she'd not done this. She should have dumped Tiger first.

OK - so offer your predictions as to what you reckon is going to happen with the P/L/MC luurve triangle....

I reckon - Matt will find out somehow, possibly when they are in New York. Cue massive row and Lillian flying back early on her own. She feels strongly tempted to run off with Paul but can't quite commit. Matt goes AWOL in NYC while he struggles to come to terms with it all. Lillian becomes very worried about him. Matt returns. They have a big heart to heart. Matt decides to forgive Lillian and she decides to stay with him. Matt realises that he has come close to losing Lillian and begins to treat her much better. Poor Paul slinks off - once again - into the sunset.

I just can't stand Paul. Lillian is far to fabulous for him, he is so so dull. Also I think he is being way too over the top with the whole gooey 'I love you so much' business. Seriously, matt may be an arsehole but he at least gives the occasional decent oneliner and doesn't make me want to vomit every time he speaks.

Matt's had years to appreciate Lillian.

Will I get shouted down if I say the actress is doing a brilliant job? Maybe just imho, but I think it's been excellent acting on her part, and that's why I'm hooked on this storyline.

Oh gawd, I'm even sad enough to look up what happened to James' dad (died). I even like Matt all the better for not being able to stomach James. This is not fair. I feel manipulated by the SWs.

I can't see it being a proposal-I can see Matt finding out about The Affair as the big christmas storyline...what will he do ( other than lose his shit?) To be frank, I hope it happens soon as I cannot take much more of The Canoodling. (and I LOVE Lilian).

That would be pretty radical to propose, they were both married before, though.

He knows he's been a shit & is trying to make it up to her, best as he can. We see how much he does value her. Problem with Matt, he's damaged emotionally so can't be as giving to other people as a normal person usually can. That's the irony in Lillian having love affair with Matt's half brother, who wasn't so damaged, etc. It's like Paul is the person Matt could have been.

See, dammit, there's something twisted about making listeners see Matt Crawford so compassionately.
